Most new albums these days, including Battleship Potemkin, have credits for ProTools Operator and ProTools Engineer. Is it only recently that ProTools has begun to be used for music recording, or is it just that up until now the operator / engineer have always remained anonymous?

What is the difference between the operator and engineer anyway?

Engineers have always been credited in PSB releases. Look at Actually - Andy Richards credited for Fairlight work... Bob Kraushar (sp?) credited as an Engineer in Behaviour, 'Goetz' for some tracks in Nightlife, etc etc
