Brit Shop Boys

DAVID WALLIAMS is measuring up for his biggest challenge yet to my gay-o-meter.
David and his Little Britain sidekick MATT LUCAS have agreed to star in a PET SHOP BOYS video.

That’s right, one of the most camp bands in pop history — famous for their version of gay anthem Go West — have signed the double act to promote a forthcoming single.

David must have been so excited at the prospect he needed new trousers — he’s pictured above getting fitted for a new suit at Savile Row tailor Richard James.

The Pet Shop Boys — NEIL TENNANT and CHRIS LOWE — have loads of camp followers, so the vid is sure to be a winner with the pink pound brigade.

David told me: “The Pet Shop Boys have asked us to do a video for a new single.

“We thought it would be funny to do it as Lou and Andy and then have Matt as Chris Lowe playing the keyboards. It would be great fun.”

Matt added: “We would love to be in a Pet Shop Boys video. They came to see our show a couple of weeks ago. There has always been a great connection between musicians and comedians.

“We met ELTON JOHN too. He’s seen Little Britain and he likes it. Sometimes you just think, ‘How on earth do you know who I am?’ ”

David has already caused havoc with the mechanics inside my finely-tuned lavender sensor, alternating repeated bouts of limp-wristed behaviour with going on dates with some real laydees.

But this project is sure to give my gay gauge its ultimate test — I can’t wait to see the pictures.

The Pet Shop Boys have earned a reputation for putting on some of the most theatrical shows in music.

They are renowned for getting musclebound blokes decked out in VILLAGE PEOPLE-style outfits.

So if their track record is anything to go by, they won’t need to spend a lot on costumes for the Little Brits duo.

Dafydd “the only gay in the village” has loads of slinky PVC outfits he’d happily let his heroes borrow.

This is gonna kick arse. Don't be fooled by the poor journo, she hasn't got a f*** clue. Concentrate on the actual news.

I think you are right - hope the rumours are true - just might give the boys that elusive 5th number 1. Guaranteed to get loads of plays on all the music channels. A master stroke from the boys - The article? What do you expect from the Sun.

Great stuff, it immediately makes the boys newsworthy and guarantees the video loads of airplay.

Sorry but I think its a great idea,

At the moment Walliams and Lucas are MASSIVE. They have one hell of a hit show (9.5 MILLION viewers), are always in the press.

What better way to promote the first single from your first "proper" album for 5 years. It will guarantee a lot of coverage which can only be a good thing.

Some time ago I saw an interview where PSB appear with some of the actors of little britain, so you never know.

Anyway, I don't like to see to the PSB making shameless gay videos again.
