New York city boy was a great single - one that really returned PSB to European airwaves, despite how much people here want it not to be so, but So Hard is classic PSB and so has to win.
14 Being Boring vs You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk
I appreciate the great lyrics of Being Boring, but the music has never really done enough for me. 'Drunk' on the other hand turned out to be one of the most touching things they'd ever done (which is not what I expected after all the talk of banjos and the weird title).

01 West End Girls Good as KYFG is, PSB would be nowhere without West End girls

02 Love Comes Quickly Love comes quickly was maybe a strange choice for a single but it's a haunting tune & I would simply much rather listen to it than Go West

03 I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing Great song :D

04 Suburbia I love Liberation but I doubt anyone other than PSB fans would remember it unless they saw the video. Anyone with an interest in pop will have heard of Suburbia so it wins this round

05 It's A Sin Yesterday, when I was mad is another which seems to have a cult following amongst fans. It's a sin thrashes it hands down in my book

06 What Have I Done To Deserve This Just a brilliant record. The original Paninaro was great but not this remake (...runs for cover  )

07 Rent Before has a bad press amongst fans, unfairly in my book but it can't beat the mighty Rent

08 Always On My Mind I'm a little bored of Always on my mind but it's a classic. A title which you simply cannot bestow upon SAVE

09 Heart Heart every single time

10 Domino Dancing Just can't see whats so popular about A red letter day

11 Left To My Own Devices Simon Bates once described this as a "fabulous, fabulous record". I doubt anyone has described Somewhere as anything other than shite

12 It's Alright It's Alright was ...well pretty good actually. I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more was saved only by the Rauhofer Roxy Anthem in my book

13 So Hard I despise New York city boy. So Hard wins

14 Being Boring Close but BB shades it over Drunk. Didn't the remix of BB chart in its own right? :D

15 Where The Streets Have No Name/...Seriously I might by one of the only ones here who doesn't hate HAD. Its not in the same league as ...Streets though

16 Jealousy No contest - I get along is appalling

17 DJ Culture DJ Culture I always thought was underrated & I still love it

18 Flamboyant Close one. I like Was it worth it? but love Flambo

I make that 16 to 2 in favour of the old skool. Some of the choices are very close though & one or two of the "Discography 2" tracks can count themselves as having been unlucky in being beaten purely by what their conterparts achieved originally

How nice that we agree on something PSB for a change  :P

Here are the votes from The Netherlands ;)

01 West End Girls vs Can You Forgive Her
Although it all started out with West End girls, I can't remember that I liked the song that much when I became a fan of PSB. However, when Can you forgive her? was released I thought : What a brilliant single! Finally (after the release of Behaviour) a single that is typical ('very'...) PSB. One of the best PSB singles ever this. Not only the music AND the lyrics are fantastic, but the video is brilliant also.

02 Love Comes Quickly vs Go West
Although I love Go West (music, lyrics and again.... the video), Love comes quickly has always been one of my top favorite PSB songs. Coincidentally I was browsing through my old VHS tapes yesterday-evening and there it was...MTV Pet Shop Boys weekend (the 'Very' CD Box as a logo in the upperleft corner)... after a long time I saw the video for LQC again. I played it at least 9 times yesterday.... what a beautiful song. This is really my song, you know.

03 Opportunities vs I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing
Never been quite a fan of Opportunities and neither of 'I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing', but if I have to choose (yes, you do, Grover) I will vote for the latter. I like the single version better then the album version.

04 Suburbia vs Liberation
Never been quite a fan of Liberation. I thought is was a weak single at the time. But.... Suburbia is another story! It's just simply fantastic. I remember that I saw them perform Suburbia on Dutch television (what it Veronica's Countdown?) and that did it for me. I thought... there's those guys again... they are bloody brilliant. I immediately was hooked on the song and on them! O.... and the mix on 'Disco' is, well, freakin' impressive! Those dogs.... everything.... just brilliant!

05 It's A Sin vs Yesterday When I Was Mad
I hate Yesterday, when I was mad. I never understood why it was a single. I hate it (I am repeating myself, but I just hate it to bits  ).
I love It's a sin. I remember I was on a holiday in Holland at the time this single was released. I heard it on the radio and again and again... and found myself singing along with it during that vacation. I thought.... what a great song! I didn't know from who it was.... didn't catch the DJ mentioning it. Only afterwards I found out that it was from the Pet Shop Boys! Amazing song. I think one of the songs that 'defines' (what's the word?) the PSB.

06 What Have I Done To Deserve This vs Paninaro 95
Difficult. I am quite fond of What have I done to deserve this?, but on the other hand I love Paninaro. I love the original 1986 version. I love the mix on Disco. I love those better then the 1995 version, but let's go mad : i will choose Paninaro 95 over What have I done to deserve this? (just because I like the original so much)!

07 Rent vs Before
Although I think Rent is a great song (not exactly the music, but the lyrics actually), I will choose Before. I know a lot of people hate this song a a single, but I really love it. Beautiful song, although it's a lot simpler than Rent and not 'in the same league' really, but my vote stands.

08 Always On My Mind vs Se A Vida E
Easy. Always on my mind. I never quite liked SAVE, for some reason. I thought it was 'not really' PSB, if you get my point. It's one of the songs on Billigual that doesn't do it for me. Although Billingual is a fantastic album. It's beyond me why so many people dish this album. But hey... you can't argue about taste can you?
What a fantastic energetic song, this Always on my mind is. Brilliant. Typical 80's PSB and I love it.

09 Heart vs Single-Bilingual
SB as a single? Hmmm nice clip with Neil indeed, but I don't like the song. They should have put a different song out from Billigual. 'Heart' was the first CD-single I ever bought. So yes... it's gonna be 'Heart'.

10 Domino Dancing vs A Red Letter Day
Domino dancing is from the 80's, isn't it? :) So I vote Domino dancing. A red letter day is too much 'Go West II' I'm afraid. It's more of the same, whereas Domino dancing is just fantastic. Great music, great lyrics (I love the more simpler, sexy lyrics from Neil) and even a bloody great video!

11 Left To My Own Devices vs Somewhere
Oh my. I never understood 'Somewhere'. Very weak single. Very weak song... it doesn't do anything for me. Whereas Left to my own devices is PSB at their best. Just saw the freakin' brilliant video on my VHS yesterday again... it's just soooo good. This is the PSB I like. Brilliant music, brilliant lyrics, brilliant video. One of their best singles ever.

12 It's Alright vs I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More
I always loved this single. I remeber the first time the video was shown on MTV. Those were the days! What a fantastic single. Great music... I mean... really great music, great lyrics, very nice video... I love everything about it. I remember hearing it the first time and I had to think about The Reynold Girls single (were they called this?).... was it 'Id' rather Jack' or something like that? I thought the music was kind of similar... afterwards I found out the PSB had asked the keyboard-player on that single to contribute to It's Alright. I will not talk about I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more. Ok, one word: 'dull'!

13 So Hard vs New York City Boy
Hmm.... difficult. I never quite liked both of them. I thought 'New York city boy' was Go West, Part III (being A red letter day part II). I love the David Morales mixes of 'So Hard' actually. Great, great mixes. Hmmm... well... let's vote New York city boy... (I must be mad!).

14 Being Boring vs You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk
BB is PSB at their best. Great music, great lyrics and great video. One of my favorite songs. One of the few tracks I actually like on Behaviour (yes, I mean it!)

15 Where The Streets Have No Name/...Seriously vs Home And Dry
Hmmm... never quite liked 'Where the streets have no name (I can't take my eyes off you)' and I thought HAD was a rather dull single. But! But! I loved the single-version of How can you expect to be taken seriously?! Really loved it. A pity only Where the streets have no name (I can't take my eyes off you) got played a lot on radio and TV. It was a double A-side and How can you expect to be taken seriously? was way better.

16 Jealousy vs I Get Along
I never quite liked Jealousy or I get along for that matter. But I will vote for Jealousy. I get along is a little too much out of my PSB spectrum.... whatever that means.

17 DJ Culture vs Miracles
It's a miracle hehehe to me that DJ Culture was released as a single... especially to promote 'Discography' along with Was it worth it?. Both not so great songs, altough I must say Was it worth it? was great fun, looking back at the video for it. And I like the 12" mix of it. But somehow it was not really 'PSB' for me, Was it worth it?. I think the music from DJ Culture is dull. I find the lyrics too complicated (this more than once happens with PSB songs... I think sometimes the music is just bloody fantastic, but the songs get ruined by the intellectual, complicated, non-relatable lyrics of Neil. Yes, I am not kiddin'!) All in all I have to vote for 'Miracles'.

18 Was It Worth It vs Flamboyant
I don't get Flamboyant. Don't see what's so good about it. I will vote for Was it worth it?, because... in the end: it was! :)

And... now I'm tired! Have to clean my house. See you later.
