The new album: A little back to the 80's?
Well, if you hear Disco 3 you can see some songs have a little sound like the 80's (in fact, If love could kill and Try have been songs written in the 80's). Then we saw like PSB played almost the Bobby "O" version of Westen Girls on tour.
Some mounths later, in an interview, they talked about the posibility of the new keyboards which ones could create new sounds and also the old sounds of the 80's.
Now we know they are going to work with TH and they have made some songs similar to It's a sin.
Of course they are going to include new things and new sounds but it looks like the new album also could rescue some old sounds.
So... do you think the new album will have a little bit of the 80's sounds?, do you think is the return of the old PSB in some way?, would you like the idea or not?.

I am not living in the 80's so why going back? And no, I don't like the idea. I hope the new album is going to sound fresh and up-2-date and contains some great tracks - otherwise I don't know what I waited four years for.nickname wrote: So... do you think the new album will have a little bit of the 80's sounds?, do you think is the return of the old PSB in some way?, would you like the idea or not?.

I would like them to return to the song writing and production philosophy that prevailed in their 80's work. That is, marvelous, bitter sweet, melancholy songs in soaring OTT productions. But obviously, a lot of things have changed since then, so the actual sound I hope is contemporary.nickname wrote: So... do you think the new album will have a little bit of the 80's sounds?, do you think is the return of the old PSB in some way?, would you like the idea or not?.
"Unprofessional? Us? Sir. Might I with due respect remind you that Mister Vandemar and myself burned down the City of Troy? We brought the Black Plague to Flanders. We have assassinated a dozen kings, five popes, half a hundred heroes and two accredited gods. Our last commission before this was the torturing to death of an entire monastery in sixteenth century Tuscany. We are utterly professional." - Mr Croup

I Kind of Like the idea... If it's done in a "New...way....". If PSB want 2 b sucessful(maybe not the exact word
..) they truly need be be creative & Inventive. I think that Doing something in the vein of Disco 3 could be a bit outdated, i mean Electroclash is quite over.
I would love for them To do something between Goldfrapp, Miss Kittin ( I come) and Kraftwerk...
Let's get Trashy & fun ...again...

besides I never liked the drum sounds of the 80's. all those reverbed to death hand claps and drums that sounded like machine guns in an echo chamber. even those dry, fat, boring analogy synth sounds annoy me also from the 80's. I want ultra modern sounding music, like "we're the petshopboys'.

Up with thin, wet, non-boring digital synth sounds!

In mi opinion "We Are The Petshopboys" is, probably, the most boring and stupid song of their career. Well, it's not a PSB song really, they made a cover only because the song talked about then. If PSB make songs like that, I prefer they finish their career and split up.glennjridge wrote:Yeah! thats what I want also!Chrispsb wrote:I am not living in the 80's so why going back? Cos the new Fishersponner album (sounds a bit "has been" to me... I mean honestly, Is it That Good.?.) Goldfrapp is another thing...I think they have developped there own "sound"...
Of course , I'm still getting over the fact that thy're gone a bit more commercial....on there new album ...
By my standard, Goldfrapp, is not comparable to Fisher (BTW I loved there fisrt album, and have singles and 2nd album)
I truly believe that PSB should get back to simple melodies with lush production and Dark edges has in : Left to my own devices, Some Speculations, I'm not Scared and even Was that What It Was?....and others...
Anyway that's my 2 cents...
