I want happy PSB songs

That's the great thing about them most of the time the music is incredibly upbeat while the music is sad

What Happy songs..Was It Worth It is a song I would describe as happy as is I wouldn't Normally do & Liberation but the rest are generally sad as Se A Vida E is about someone who is depressed with low self worth..

Was it worth it? I think is quite sad, the I don't know why I never thought I'd fall in love, conjures up the idea of someone who felt themselves unable to love due to being hurt many times and because of something in their past. I sure I read somewhere that the song was a commentary on Aids

I completely agree!! But I think the language plays a very important role in this discussion... I think when you're English native (concerning to language), you concentrate your attention in lyrics... But when you aren't, you concentrate more in music... It's just my opinion....

And then, sad songs (lyrics) are happy songs (music)...

I don't really buy into the whole "sad music makes you sad" ethos. For instance The Cure's Disintegration is one of my fave albums of all time, and albums in general don't get any sadder than that. But still the opening rush of Plainsong always makes me deliriously happy. In the same way happy songs can be so annoying that they'll ruin your mood totally.

It's all about catharsis. Just like watching a classic tragedy can make you feel lifted and happy, a sad song can give you pleasure in a way that' totally at odds with the song's mood. Great art, whether it's pop or opera, will always gladden the heart of the observer.

I completely agree. I get sad from listening to Britney Spears, but I feel uplifted listening to Morrissey.
