Actually, securing an April release date is a strong show of support by EMI. Not as good as getting an Autumn release to cash in on the Holiday buying frenzy but way better than being shunted aside into the 1st 3 months of the year when the labels release lackluster product, if anything at all. Any act worth it's keep gets one of these 2 prime slots.
PSB have released 14 albums and the 1st 12 -- Please thru Release -- all went Top 20 in the UK. And all of them were either released in:
Autumn ( Sept, Oct, Nov ) __ Disco, Actually, Introspective, Behavior, Discography, Very, Disco 2, Bilingual & Nightlife. Alternative roughly falls into this category, too, with an Aug release.
Spring ( April, May, June ) __ Please & Release
Disco 3 came out in Feb & only reached 36. PopArt came out in Dec but only reached 30, so it is the exception to the rule.
Why tinker with success ?
I like it here ~~ wherever it is ...
