How many great hits do you predict for the new album ?

#1 Post by Very »

Please try to predict how many hits will have the new album (Top 20 singles).
We had a poll here a few weeks ago and people are expecting 2-3 singles from this new album... so how many great hits do you predict?

If two singles are released before the album, we will have 3 hits:

1 modest hit
1 big hit
1 small hit

...but there will probably be just the one single before the album, then we'l have 2 hits:

1 big hit
1 modes/small hit

2 in the top 20. Both will come in at about number 15 then drop like a stone out of the charts never to be heard of again

3 big hits. Even one number one in the top 10.

"It´s fundamental that we do only exist in our own universe. When you like Pet Shop Boys, you are in our world. This is absolutely crucial to our entire outlook...what we do has an incredibly strong identity and applies only to us. It´s a case of not recognising the existence of anybody else!". Neil Tennant.

Will you get a new number one, Neil?

No, I don't think we will, unless we make a record that appeals to a very young audience and I don't think doing that is really a priority for us now
(Neil Tennant on the official site, more than one year ago).

How can we know????? We haven't even heard a demo of those singles...

You are talking about expectations... not about predictible results.

My expectation is that they are gonna improve the sales of Nightlife & Release... I cannot dare to say anymore.

3 top 20 hits and I think (I hope!) 1 or 2 top 10 hits...

It's quite ironic to hear people calling e.g a song that reaches #19 a Top 20 hit!

I think they need a top 3, at least.

No, a top 2, at least.

no great hits, possibly top 5 for the first single if released in a quiet week
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

1 top 10, 2 top 20s...the album will surely be a top 10

ofcourse everything depends on single #1 and knowing their singles choices..I shall be praying very hard
Left to my own devices, I probably would...
