I agree it is bit confusing knowing if you still are a member with there being so long between publications but at least we know we are store for the Xmas cardmantooth wrote:I have no clue if I'm even still a member. I wrote to ask, but never hard back. Although I did receive the DVD last year... Months late due to the postage fiasco.

i never saw that in Literally about 'the stonk'??...Janet Street-Porter wrote:Pet Shop Boys' new album will be their first to feature real drums, as well as "lots of guitars".
Neil Tennant told their fanclub mag Literally: "We learned on our last tour playing with two guitarists that, when you have a big four-on-the-floor epic, putting guitar chords on a chorus tends to lift it. So we've done that."
He added: "But I think if you like It's A Sin, you'll like this album."
Pet Shop Boys say their as-yet-untitled new album, out in April, was originally intended as minimalist electro-pop.
"Consequently, as a result we've made an album of sweeping epics, one after another, " Neil Tennant told fanclub mag Literally. "I don't know how we've managed that."
Chris Lowe said: "It sounds quite expensive, which I know is very important to people."
Tennant described new single The Stonk as being "Pink Floyd meets Laurel and Hardy."

If thats true
The album will be bloody fantastic
Pink Floyd meets Laurel and Hardy.
I like the sound of that
That just means to me an epic track going into say something like Tall Thin Men

Got mine yesterday too! Surprised there was no Xmas card. Hopefully that'll appear soon.
All the Pink Floyd comparisons might be misleading. It was something Trevor Horn said but Neil responded that he's not familiar with their stuff.
They mention in the Q&A section that a full release of the Derek Jarman directed film of their first tour might now be possible. That would be good!

I absolutely loved their "Odyssey" album. Far better than the first one. But somehow I don't think that PSB will sound anything like it, I don't know... I'm not too confident about PSB album anymore. But I'll wait until I hear it.Syncratic wrote:The Fischerspooner album, Odyssey was described during pre-release as being Pink Floyd and features real drums and guitars (or at least authetntic samples) and there's some very pure electronic pop songs on the album. It's patchy in places, but if you listen to 'Just Let Go', 'A Kick in the teeth' for example it's still fairly euphoric.
They may not be everyone's cup of tea but production wise you can have guitars and drums, and electronic music and mix it pretty well. However, I haven't seen the new literally so maybe there's a bit of leg pulling going on.

I got mine one today.
I looove the first pic. Gotta pay the membership soon. I´ll send the payment tomorrow.
They don´t like it here that you send money by mail. Has anyone sent money in envelope so that the letter has been affirmed ? Still not sure in which way I´ll send it.

I always send the money in the envelope and all the letters reached the PSB club. Never got caught or anything for that. I was searching for different ways of sending money but it seems impossible or too expensive so I use only envelopes.psb-freak wrote:I got mine one today.I looove the first pic.
