Which documentary is this?

#1 Post by Docoboy »

Have been hanging out with my extended family on New Years Eve. My parents' TV was on in the background when I was astonished to realize it was none other than Neil Tennant being interviewed saying that "pop groups go through an imperial phase" before the program cut to a shot of Brian Ferry performing.

Unfortunately I couldn't get my 17 cousins and assorted aunts and uncles to be quiet, so I didn't get to watch the rest of the program. Can anyone tell me what it is, and is it worth seeking out on DVD to see the entire program?

I cannot say I know what show this is, but in the latest issue of Uncut, Johnny Marr quotes Neil Tennant for saying that there's a time when a band goes "imperial" and that this is what happened to the Smiths with The Queen is Dead.
It was a cough that carried him off. It was a coffin they carried him off in.

I think I worked it out - it was some documentary about Oscar Wilde - it looked good, pity to miss it.
