You'd have thought they might have come up with an idea or two of their own instead of nicking just about all their imagery ideas from PSB.

Awww... don't be so hard on 'em! It's so cute that they're trying to be the female version of the Pet Shop Boys - at least think of it as sexy publicity for our Boys! People hearing their covers for the first time will likely want to hear the originals next. I bet Neil & Chris find them oddly charming, even if they are rather cheesy.

Most ppl. who like these ... erm 'fakes'
are teens and this target group might
not even know anything about PSB ...

Maybe it's because I'm Canadian and we Canadians often find silly crap from other countries adorable. God, you should see how many bloody anime fans there are running around now, how many goths... everything I liked in the past has now been bastardized all to hell, and I have grown to really dislike it.

I don't know - I also know a delightful number of amusing Swedes so whenever I think of anything from Sweden I smile... and that includes ABBA!

Well I'm normally anti-pop music, hate most chart music and can generally be a bit of a snob music wise. However, I do actually think West End Girls make decent pop music.

That's the point. They are just doing a PSB album + wants to take simular photos because they love their music/style, not to beacome famous...

Don't say I love them buy it's great idea. At least someone in scandinavia that remembers PSB.

It's good that West End girls makes publicity for the boys, but the girls should try to be more original..

Yeah... I know. REAL Petheads - the ones who liked 'em the first time around, will see West End girls as annoying and insipid. BUT - they will draw a younger, dimmer, HORNIER fanbase! They're the "reality TV" equivalent of a cover band...

I don't see what the problem is. It's not like they are pretending to be anything other than a postmodern take on PSB. They haven't ripped off their sound and modelled themselves as a Swedish Ladytron - rather they have covered PSB songs and recreated PSB imagery and unapologetically named themselves West End Girls.
