the interesting thing about neil and range as far as I can tell is that he utilizes far more range than your adverage singer. most singers just sing in one certain range, take for example elton john. he isnt all over the place. neil is per each CD.
you have your low sort of range such as "birthday boy"you choose"single"
you have the midrange stuff such as "we're the petshop boys" london"well thats where he usually is so there is lots,
and then you have the high range such as "drunk" closer to heaven"nightlife"if looks could kill.
all these ranges are usually found all within your adverage PSB cd. listen to most other groups CD's like DM or erasure, the singer usually is singing in just one sort of area.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. Neil is in fine vocal form throughout Release. Elsewhere, I've always loved his voice on 'Rent', which I believe was the first song he recorded with single-tracked vocals. I always think he sounds better like this - more raw emotion emerges.Mr. Disco wrote:He may not have a great vocal range, but no vocalist is better for the PSB than Neil.
I like the smooth velvet tone of his voice. And he is singing much better now than he did in the beginning of the carrear. His best vocals are found on the Release album.
Passion, love, sex, money, violence, religion, injustice and death. More on that story later.
