Some of us, thanks god, don´t have that 'filter' that put every song we listen into a sexual category...we just listen to a song, and if it´s great, it´s just a great song. So, I know, I never think about a song if it sounds gay...but there is a lot of people there (almost everybody here, Argentina is a basically 'Macho-Rock' country  ...) who catalogue the music trough this categories on the first place...They have their radar fucused on that, and everytime a PSB song starts to play (even if they don´t know that it´s PSB) says: OH! what´s that GAY music!!??
Then, and because of that, I know PSB sound gay...poor people who can´t enjoy the best music in the world because of that...
This is not my signature.

Oh, for God's sake. Gay people have performed and recorded all sorts of music - not just dance or disco! Remember alternative band "Sugar"? Heavy stuff indeed. This vocalist and songwriter happened to be gay - so what? How someone choses to express their sexuality in the few private moments they do-what-they-do for doesn't have such a two dimensional influence on music as everyone thinks.

It's good or bad music at the end of the day, not "gay" or "straight". You shouldn't have to apologise for listening to "gay" music - that's just daft. You like it - or not.

Pet Shop Boys are a fantastic, international institution. That's all that matters. You never hear people saying "yeah, I know this artist wants to have sex with members of the opposite sex, but that doesn't matter, I like the music anyway"!

While sexuality can inform lyrics, it's ultimately irrelevant in categorising whether someone is musically talented or not, or what sort of music they are talented at making!

Andy

P.S. I'm not telling you if I'm striaght or gay - it has no influence on my comments here!

Just the same, in my case. I'm straight but I love the music of gay groups or singers.

 Spaceman's umpteenth attempt to ingratiate himself back into the PSB community no doubt! Perhaps he hasn't yet found the other forum, at least he wouldn't get banned there....or would he?
