Any word on what the regional coding will be yet?
If it's in the Official site, I obviously missed it, and there are no details on Amazon.
I hope it's not gonna be another ''Home and dry" and only be in PAL.
Contrary to popular belief, not all of the newer DVD players here in the US play all formats yet, and I don't want to pre-order one if it won't work in my player.
the I'm With Stupid DVD format....

Sorry to say, but yes, its going to be PAL. I do believe that if you have a DVD drive for your computer, it should be regionless. Region is usually controlled by the DVD playback software on computers and not the hardware. If you've already set your software to region 1, you might be able to go in and change that preference. I know that I have played PAL DVDs on my computer before...but I can't remember what DVD playback software I used.Lovok wrote:Any word on what the regional coding will be yet?

But altough it´s going to be a PAL DVD, it doesn´t mean that it need to be encoded for region 2 (Europe)...it can be a region-free DVD...so the problem will be just the PAL-NTSC thing, but not the region setting of the player...
Redman, do you know if It´s going to be for 'region 2' or 'region-free'??

Well that's a heck of a note. I may just go ahead and order it anyway then... Thanks for the head's up Redman and Gardner!! As always, you're the bomb!
Oh well, my computer is (hopefully) being repaired as we speak, and if I don't have to buy all new software, a DVD drive is already set for the next expenditure.
Now I'm wondering if i get the DVD and it's in PAL, is there software that will rip the video, convert it to another format, and burn it to a DVD so i CAN watch it on the TV?
It would be SO much simpler if they would just not put regional coding on it. I was really disappointed at first when Performance came out on DVD. For a while I only saw the PAL version, but when I saw a No Regional Coding version from Canada, I snapped that baby up.
I wonder if they don't make DVD singles all region because it's more expensive. Seems to me if it's not, why WOULDN'T you want your releases to be playable everywhere??

For sure, there are many. To convert PAL to NTSC, 'TMPGEnc' is maybe the better option, very easy to use and excellent results (anyway, you´ll get always a little flickering because of the 25 to 30 frame rate conversion)Lovok wrote: Now I'm wondering if i get the DVD and it's in PAL, is there software that will rip the video, convert it to another format, and burn it to a DVD so i CAN watch it on the TV?![]()

Thanks Oz!
I'll do some s-h-o-p-p-i-n-g,
some shopping!
If I have to live with a little flickering, I'm cool with that. Worst case scenario, I can still watch it on the computer.
Ever since I pre-ordered the special edition of Fundamental, I have this new sense of excitement; like getting new PSB material is that much closer!
WOOOO-f*#cking- HOOOOOOOOO!!!!
