Pet Shop Boys are worried.

Over the split of the swedish popgroup Alcazar.

-It's really sad, says the singer Neil Tennant.
Next month the legendary popduo release their first album in four years. The band have in recent years worked together with several swedish artists.
-We loved Alcazars "Crying at the discoteque". It was a fantastic record. We saw them perform in Stockholm and London.
-I heard they split and it's really sad.

Swedes are involved in a new documentary about the group, among them the popduo West End Girls who've recorded an album consisting only of Pet Shop Boys covers.
-We have the the record, and we like it. To me it sounds like our songs have been remade by a Britney Spears producer. It's a good recipe.

Haven't changed style.

Pet Shop Boys new cd "Fundamental" reminds much of the music they made in the end of the 1980's. The lyrics have a clear political undertone. The single "I'm with Stupid" is inspired by the relationship between Tony Blair and George W Bush. But the duo deny that they've changed direction with the new album.
-It's inspired by the cilmate in the society which marked by fear. But it's not a serious political album.
