My brother has just said it sounds like that!

I've had a listen to BAB and indeed, it does! 8)

Yes, it's quite similar to Beds are burning :?

Now I know why I don't like the chorus.

As belated said, the strings have almost the same melody of "Theese are the things" chrous, by Black box recorder. Which was a terrific song, by the way.

I like it quite a lot. my only complaint is they way neil's is singing...i would have preferred a slightly deeper voice.

that said, people are mentioning "beds are burning" but to me..the main synth bit reminds me so much a dance song from '95 or '96 (or earlier) it went "lover on the line i'll tell you secrets on your mind..." something like that. its like almost IDENTICAL! (unless i'm mistaken)

they way he says "perfect" is having the same effect on me as when he says "please" in ADPOV...damn!

but somehow i don't think this song can work as a single...its not approchable enough for the general public!!

oh and two more things:

on the first listen...my initial reaction was "i don't like it" but it is growing on me so that's good...

and the second thing is i don't think psb have sounded remotely this close to "very" in a decade. hrm....now i'm really looking forward to the rest of the album! luna park and this have done it. (but i'm still waiting for the stand out track!)

WOW. I think I won't go seeking this out, but given that I'm pretty much a Eurovision, A-ha and BWO addict, with Neil's vocals added in, this should in theory be my formula for the perfect song!

There's only one song called "Beds are burning", right? Midnight Oil?

Talking of "Go West" there's some current advert using a version of the song renamed as "Go east".

Talking of Goldfrapp, I keep thinking I ought to like them more than I do. I do like their music, but I don't love it, and Alison is somehow hard to warm to.

Talking of Placebo - which we are now! - just heard their new song and am very happy because it's a return to form as far as I'm concerned - "Because I want you" was a disappointment but this, "Song to say goodbye" is fantastic.

Beds Are Burning - Midnight Oil

Advert - Sharwoods

Goldfrapp - Their first album by far their best!

Placebo - 8) just that

OMG, it's totally like ''Beds are burning''
i've just tried to sing the melody onto PSB's melody and it fits perfectly
maybe it's just a coincidence, who knows...

Coincidence or not...if I were the Pet Shop Boys I wouldn't put a song on the new album that sounds like 'Beds are burning'.

I'm sure there are hundreds of songs sounding like Integral (or vice versa). It isn't exactly the most uncommon chord change used.

as long as we're talking about other songs it reminds us of, i think that the

One world
One reason
Unchanging
One season

part kinda sounds like "Blind Vision" by Blancmange
