WHAT IS IT WITH YOU LOT AAARRRRGGGGGHHHH !

#1 Post by dibdav »

This may well be my last post to this community.

I visit here to here like-minded people comment on the 'good & bad' world of being a Pet Shop Boys fan.
...and what can I say, I can't believe there are some fans out there moaning about Fundamental entering the UK Album Chart at no.5.

What is wrong with you ?

2006 has so so far been an amazing year to be a fan, and there's still lots more to come.

LOADS OF PROMOS - TV & RADIO FRIENDLY AGAIN !
NUMBER 8 SINGLE !
AMAZING DOUBLE-CD FUNDAMENTAL !
GREAT REVIEWS !
FESTIVAL DATES !
MINIMAL NEXT SINGLE !
WORLD TOUR IN 2007 !
...FIRST TOP 5 ALBUM IN 10 YEARS !

Number 5 beats there last 2 studio albums, and do you remember that 'sinking' feeling when Disco 3 entered in the 30's, and PopArt too !

For heavensake, a Top Ten Single, Top Five Album, amazing material & great reviews - 20 YEARS into a 'pop' career, unheard of. Most pop acts are dead & buried after 5 years max. BE HAPPY. NO MORE NEGATIVE SHIT, some people here just always look for the worst. STOP IT - BELEIVE ME FROM EXPERIENCE I KNOW !

Well done Neil & Chris, BRILLIANT !

Hear, hear...
The CELL by Stephen King instantly hit number 1 in New York Times Bookseller Lists selling well over 200 thousand copies in three weeks. This affirms my opinion: People really need an occassional good horror read...

I think 5 is a good position as it may even rise next week.

5 is about right methinks. Only the heavyweights of Madonna and Robbie et al can command constant No.1 slots, so 5 is pretty good considering.

I´m very happy with the fifth position.

-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

I think it's disgusting that "fans" moan about it only getting to no. 5.

Would you rather it only have got to 50 and then the boys announce their retirement?

If 5 isn't a great achievement I don't know what is actually ! It's better than Nightlife and Release let alone Disco 3 and PopArt. I'm sure sales were very high, too. Could easily be around 30 000 I guess. Anyone got accrurate numbers ?

Anyway it's brilliant !!

I'd already posted the position in another thread and once again, we get another thread about the same thing. I'm bored of reading about stupid f****n polls about what song should be in the tour and topics that have already been commented on. It's usually the same few members who are contributing to making this forum full of crap.

Number 5 is a fantastic achievement, something i thought i'd never see again. Well done PSB and ignore Nickname and his little army, who feel the need to analyse everything and still find something negative to say.

Very true as I have posted before ....

As I have said before Thats the trouble with PSB fans there Fickle give them an inch they want a yard.

Neil and Chris can be well pleased with this EMI should be over the moon all the tour dates could all get booked up and sold out.
They have added the extra Tower performance so there could well be extra dates added
as well.

Once again to Neil and Chris thanks and well done for this wonderful New Album..

Not all the people on here will like all the tracks but there should be something there for everybody just listen with open minds to the Textured Lyrics and lush landscapes of sound.
We are not all painted into a corner..................
They make a little go along way.. very Minimal but Fundamental.

I'm okay with chart position but it stands a good chance or rising next week as most albums do.

NO, IT DOESN'T! You have posted this theory in at least three threads now and apparently are deaf to dissenting voices.

1. Just had a look at last week's album chart. In the top 40 there were 6 new entries, 30 albums either falling down or staying put and only four(4) albums going up in the charts. Four out of thirty-four (if we discount the new entries) doesn't constitute "most".

2. PSB are a fan-base act, which means that a big drop is a dead cert next week. There is no indication in their post-Very sales or I'm with stupid's chart behaviour to indicate that Fundamental stays in the Top 20 for a second week.

That said, number five is very very good. Congratulations, boys!

Totally agree and that´s what I do with the pathetic "army"!;)
Chris Heath: Why you're surfing?
Chris Lowe: Coz we can!
Neil Tennant: Exactly. :D
