Exactly! Depeche even release 5 because on forth single is John The revelator and Lillian.kdx125 wrote: If Depeche Mode can manage 4 singles of their last album then i'm sure PSB can too. After all Mute is owned by EMI now!

The reason I said 3 was because they hardly sell now and 3's enough to give a good taste of the album. Of course, the more the betterstoo wrote:A couple of years ago 3 would have been enough but the charts have changed in recent years and i think you might see 4 from this album.
I'm with stupid

Good albums do you have 4 singles, so their should be 4 singles
What do I hear? Psychological the worst song? You're with stupid. Psycho tells actually the story behind the fundamental album; it's dark and about fear and therefore the perfect start of the album.
Sodom is a very good song, becomes stronger and stronger. It's the song where Trevor Horn has given everything. If some-one would ask trever, he would choose this song I suppose. But EMI didn't like "sodom" in the song title, otherwise PSB would have made this a single (is stated somewhere by the PSB).
This would be my singles choice:
1. I'm with stupid
2. Minimal
3. Sodom
4. Integral
Numb I do like, but prefer not to be released as a single.

Heard the samples, I like it, because the funky synths in it creates the illusion of the song.Kiran wrote:I think I've already decided that's the worst track on the album (IMO).DJ Pat wrote:Pscycological

I don't think there are many potential singles on Fundamental. Minimal deserves to be the second single and then I'd release Integral replete with a terrifying dystopian video.
I love Luna Park but it's probably too epic for them to release as a single and would be cut to pieces. Ditto I made my excuses and left with its' long intro and short (but beautiful) heart. I assume Sodom would only be released as the 'No mention of bumming here folks' show.
Numb is suprisingly affecting but I think I'd prefer it to remain at Fundamental's dark core as the early optimism of the prelapsarian sodomite gives way to despair and apocalyptic darkness. Is God willing?

They won't release 5 singles from this album, that's just ridiculous and unrealistic. I think they will stick with 3 singles this time.
I like Minimal as the 2nd single. Great choice, no comments.
I hope they will have the guts to release Fugitive as the 3rd single. It sounds so fresh, it's catchy and controversial. It would raise more than an eyebrow!
And *if* this live album with orchestra will indeed be released in autumn, I would suggest to promote it with a song that features on that album. Indefinite Leave To Remain would be the best choice. It's a beautiful song, it's radio friendly (short and powerful) and the orchestra has a prominent role in it.

I think we will see 3 or maybe even 4 singles from this album. Obviously, 1st was I'm with stupid and next is Minimal.
Integral sounds like a single and i suspect will be 3rd release in October time.
However the track i think they should release as a sort of extra single (or maybe Double a-side with Numb) should be 'Fugitive'. It just screams hit single to me (though the subject matter might ruffle some feathers)

I agree, but there are often 4 singles off an album nowadays, and if they release "Numb" as a single I think it should be followed by a catchy pop song: "Integral" or "Sodom and Gomorrah" are both good choices.! wrote:I think there should only be 3:

3 is enough.
"Numb" as a single... Well there's nothing wrong with an occasional ballad as a single but at least they could choose one of their own compositions. Why did they bother with recording - let alone releasing - this song at all?

Finally, someone who agrees with me. Are we the only ones who feel this way or something? In my opinion the song is weak, and certainly not deserving of being catapulted up to potential single status.Hillbilly wrote:! wrote:

a what? a failing song? a farting song?chicoedulcorado wrote:"Numb" is a f***ing song for a single, the song is quite good and if that song would be sang by Aerosmiths it could be a Hit, but they aren't as famous as aerosmith...then the best choice is S&GS!!!!!!!

With my current listenings to Fundamental I would say:
#1 I'm with stupid (already done obviously)
#2 M.I.N.I.M.A.L (already chosen)
#3 Sodom and gomorrah show (this is a great great song and absolutely has to be a single, bright and optimistic sounding and has the feeling of summer all over it. A far better song than MINIMAL)
#4 Casanova in hell (What a fantastic song, wow wow wow, an absolute thrill for the senses)
#5 Let me listen to Fundamental a little bit more often.
Before I heard Sodom and Gomorrah I really didn't think this would be a song (because of its title) that could thrill me but how stupid of me, just like New york city boy! (Which yes, is a great PSB song!)

I still think if you don't release many singles, the fairweather punter will assume it's a duff album. Fundamental has up to 5 potential singles on it (I'm with stupid, Minimal, Integral, S&GS, Numb)... all of which are better than any of the singles from Release or Nightlife. Why not use this is an opportunity to show that PSB are back at the top of their game? Put some substance behind the claims...
On a personal note, I think Integral is their best song since Can You Forgive Her? and must be a single.
