Pet Shop Boys launch new album today
imageOut already since last week in Germany the new Pet Shop Boys album "Fundamental", their 9th so far, has now been released worlwide through Parlophone Records, EMI. Preceded by the new single, "I'm with stupid" (although "Minimal" was the first choice) the album has been produced by Trevor Horn and features 10 new Tennant/Lowe songs, a short introduction (also written by Tennant/Lowe) and "Numb", a song by Diane Warren, originally recorded for the "PopArt" compilation in 2003. In related news, Neil and Chris have been remixing Bananarama's next single "I feel for you" due for release in july. "I feel for you" is taken from the girls latest album "Drama". A track that Pet Shop Boys wrote early last year for Bananarama wasn't used on the album. Finally, UK residents should tune in on BBC Radio 2 on May 27th at 8.30 pm as the radio will be broadcasting a PSB concert in which Robbie Williams appeared as guest vocalist to sing the extended version of "Jealousy".

Well, this must be good for the 'ramas. Secure a certain chart success at least :)

if you go to http://www.bananarama.co.uk the site plays the next single. Dunno if its the PSB remix or not - but it sounds quite good.

There's no news on this site though saying who has remixed the song (not that I can find ).

I can't see any mention of a new single on the Bananarama site! I thought they'd abandoned the idea of releasing any more singles from this album? It's been seven months since the last one.

what's strange is that on that website there was a further news item saying that it was an untrue story following his earlier reporting, but that retraction has now vanished
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Maybe the unused PSB written track could be used as the b-side.

Drama is a fantastic album. Should've done better. :( Glad they're being given another chance.

The album was released in America not to long ago, which shocked me. I was thinking about buying the import. Even though it's on an indie label, the fact that it got released here shows that someone has faith in the album. I think dance pop might be making a slight comeback here (Cascada's "Everytime We Touch" hit the top ten).
