Why do I feel like we've done this before????

01 West End Girls
I'm beginning to feel like Can you forgive her? is the most over-rated single they've put out...

02 Go West
Though Love comes quickly really sneaks up on me...

03 I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing
Yeah, I said it...

04 Suburbia
No contest

05 It's A Sin
Though given the choice, I'd listen to Yesterday more...

06 What Have I Done To Deserve This
Poor Paninaro...

07 Rent
Duh...

08 Always On My Mind
In a laugher...

09 Heart
Seriously...

10 A Red Letter Day
Nothing against Domino dancing, but Red letter day is in my top 5

11 Left To My Own Devices
Pur-LEASE!

12 I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More
Yeah, that's right.

13 So Hard
I can't think of anything to say about this laugher...

14 Being Boring
The hardest one for me- as BB was vastly overrated, but Drunk is just too overplayed...

15 Where The Streets Have No Name/...Seriously
Especially with the BiR mix of Seriously...

16 Jealousy
Some of these aren't anywhere near being close...

17 DJ Culture
Coining a phrase in popular culture wins out every time...

18 Was It Worth It
Nothing left to say....

Blue 14-4 Red

And it wasn't even THAT close.....

Both are exaggerated and sentimental approaches. Can You Forgive Her is neither the best single nor the most overrated one they've put out. At least ten singles from the Discography era (Always on my mind, Opportunities, It's A Sin, Rent, Heart, Left To My Own Devices, So Hard, Suburbia, It's Alright and Domino dancing are clearly better than Can you forgive her?; West End girls and Being Boring are at par) and at least three singles from the post Discography era (A Red Letter Day, Flamboyant and Minimal) are either better or at par with it.

Yes, lyrics are excellent but almost all PSB lyrics are excellent anyway...
The CELL by Stephen King instantly hit number 1 in New York Times Bookseller Lists selling well over 200 thousand copies in three weeks. This affirms my opinion: People really need an occassional good horror read...

Pah... the single version of Domino Dancing is barely better than the ultra super secret rare track of Neil farting in the bath.

Can You Forgive Her? is totally sublime, otherworldly pop perfection with spy-movie cool and gloriously perceptive lyrics. It's like an intriguing mystery you can never unravel. The synthesized 6/8 instrumentation sits together magnificently, and it warrants being turned up really loud so you can hear everything exciting that's going on. Magnificent film clip too by the way. That said, the remixes were pants - I can never forgive Rollo and MK.

I love West End Girls as well but in comparison, it's a tad dull and too easily disectable into its constituent parts. One of the most famous basslines of all time to be sure, but the song aims more at being cool than exciting and it doesn't tell a particularly intriguing tale either.
