Surely EMI and PSB should take advantage of the 'growing' interest. If they were clever they could get themselves another NUMBER 1. They really could !
so many people in this place are divided on this song, but to me ,even though its not my favorite song on fundamental I recognize it as probabaly the most radio friendly in structure and subject matter.
and it reached a massive audience when emotions were high as engerlund crashed outta the world cup. maybe it wouldnt be perceived too well if the two were linked.....?
That's it, it's all over. We're out of here. What a Legacy! (c) Chris Lowe 2009

Yea I think Numb is a 'nice' song for the general population - Neil sings it beautifully. At first I didnt like it cause it was very UN Pet Shop Boys, but now its kinda nice to listen to now again.
Numb is very "UN Pet Shop Boys"?! It is in the same vein as LIAC. It is *very* PSB on the contrary. Heartbreak, despair, overwhelmed by the big bad world etc. Typical PSB!
The only un-PSB thing is the double negatives as Neil's grammar et al. is always perfect. But that's about it.
--- Coincidence and patience will mend this fatal flaw ---
I don't have a problem with Numb. It sounds like a PSB song, just like any song they 'cover'. I like the way Neil sings it too - the simple lyrics allow him to convey the emotion through his voice alone.

No promotion, no radioplay, no video, not even a single. What do you expect?. I think is the most downloaded PSB song of Fundamental, this week.
It means NOTHING.
It could have got that position with just 200 sales. Hardly impressive when you consider that football matched was watched by 16 million people. In fact its downright pathetic.
Numb never has been, and nor will it ever be, decent single material.
