Minimal Remixes

What are the Minimal download remixes like? Are they worth purchasing?

It would be cool if someone could list and post their opinions on the various mixes that are out there.

I quite like the M-Factor Mix a lot, especially its raw bassline.

The M-Factor, Telex and Tocadisco remixes are somewhere between OK and good. The Superchumbo remix is only nice if you liked his previous mixes. The Tiga remixes are absolutely horrible and would be a complete waste of your money.

The M Factor is the best vocal mix (the M Factor Dub is a very good option too); a lot of people (myself included) like the Tocadisco's moody remix too. The Telex Heaven version walk on the same way as Tocadisco, basically the same idea of a dancey dub version around the orchestation...the Telex Hell is quite different from the Heaven version, more vocals but very little from the original melody..not into my recommendations. About Tiga and Superchumbo, don´t even think about download them (if you have to pay for doing that )...

Yes, M-Factor and Tocadisco are ok. At least they put those mixes on the CD. The rest isn't worth your time and money.

Actually the best remix of Minimal is easily the Lobe Mix on Fundamentalism.

That is sublime.

Received the Promo 12" today. Tiga and Telex are horribly housy. I don't like any of the mixes on CD2 either. My favourite is also the Lobe Mix.

I've listened to the mp3's and the tracks on the promo CD and the In Private [Tomcraft 7" mix] is much clearer sounding on CD. I don't think I'll bother with mp3's anymore as original CD sound cannot really be bettered when copying to an mp3 file

It doesn't need to be bettered - it only needs to be good enough for human ears. A high bitrate works just fine.

Which is not given on iTunes. With some experience anyone should be able to distinguish such an mp3 file (128kb/s) from CD quality. Which is about 705 kb/s. Therefore, tracks available exclusively on iTunes or any other mp3 store are also exclusively bad in sound quality. Sad.

Yeah drives me nuts. Why don't they sell them at 192 Kbits/s? Arrr!

I think most people here want all the material on CDs they can buy - and also not on stupid DVD singles. Once again had to rip the DVD to get the best track - Blue on Blue! Crazy...

Tocadisco's Sunday at Space mix and Telex Heaven remix are my favourites.

128kbps-164kbps isn't really that good but then again, I do have to wear a hearing aid* in one ear and even with that, the sound on the CD is far clearer.
