Thanks for the link - been listening for a while now.

Whenever I'm going to listen to some old school italo disco, I'm thinking that I'm really gonna love it and for the first 15 seconds I'm indeed going "Yeah, this is great". But shortly thereafter I realize that far too many of the so-called "classic" italo tracks are fairly crap. Great 80's sounds, but often poor melodies and ridiculously bad vocals.

Mind you, when italo disco is good, then it's really awesome. Tracks like "Rainy Day" by Ricky Maltese and "Don't Break My Heart" by Den Harrow are amongst my alltime favourite tracks.

The track playing on that site right now, Lame: "You've Got The Night", is actually rather cool!

I agree with you about the beginnings are always superb (aren't they ever!) and then it can go downhill. Mark Dreamland at the moment is great. Just a good opportunity to listen to this stuff, its hard to do so.

I agree with you both. Italo Disco could be the ultimate music form, but very rarely is, sadly. These tracks often go wrong when the singing starts IMO...that's why I am so fond of Koto, I guess.
