PSB do tend to do rather well with other people's songs

I seem to recall they covered that Always on my Mind thing and it got them the Christmas number one of 1987. And the U2 cover of 1991 didn't too badly either. More tellingly, it was Go West that acted as the catapault for Very's UK number one position. I'm not sure that album would have so successful but for PSB's treatment of the Village People anthem. We'll leave Somewhere for the moment.

So maybe, just maybe, Numb could give PSB, and Fundamental, a new lease of life.

Other options include:

- Another 'killer' cover version of something that nobody would ever dream they would do. With a killer video.

- Someone at BMW picking up on Minimal and using it as a soundtrack for an ad for the new version of the MINI which comes out soon. The ad reingites interest in the single.

- A collaboration with any of Kylie, Madonna, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Shakhira, Agnetha Faltskog or, dare I say it, Girls Aloud. With a killer video. But I would avoid more love-ins with Elton.

Once, when it came out that I liked PSB, the person I was talking to said "You mean those guys who record other people's songs?"

I was going to protest, then I realized all she'd probably know from them is Always on my mind, Where the streets have no name (I can't take my eyes off you), Go West and the just released Somewhere so I just gave up.

I don't think you can apply those examples to Numb because they're all covers and Numb isn't. It's a PSB song written by somebody else, it wasn't recorded by another "artist" so it's their song as far as I'm concerned.
If somebody else recorded Numb now, then they would be covering PSB.
