I think it's an Rhino production at all! A better result as an ordinary 'Mastering Disc' with a white paper in a plastic envelope.

Don't think PSB were involved in this all! Rhino just was taken the promo material into this "promotional release"

Another Rhino "Stupid" promo (300024089237) was recently killed by eBay.

assume it was canceled by the seller

There's no doubt that there is a legitimate Rhino promo of "I'm with Stupid" floating around out there. Billboard magazine confirms this because it cites "Rhino Promo" with the current #12 showing of the song on its Dance Club Play chart. The only question is whether the alleged promo that's been showing up on eBay is the real thing.

Then again, I guess there is another question: which mix is getting all the club play in the U.S.? If the aforementioned item is legitimate, then it's one of these:

3:27 - I'm With Stupid ["album mix"]
8:12 - I'm With Stupid (Pet Shop Boys Baxi-mix) ["psb maxi mix"]
5:15 - I'm With Stupid (Abe Duque Mix)

Surely not the "album mix." My guess is that's the PSB Maxi Mix. Then again, all I can do is guess since I haven't set foot in a dance club in more than a decade.

Are there any active U.S. club-goers here who can confirm which mix is getting played?

As one of the few people who have owned this Promo CD, I can confirm it is 100% legit.

Why would the record company (Rhino) send me a bootleg CD?

send me your address please. I work at Rhino Records and we just put out "Fundamental" I would be happy to send you one of the promo discs (that guys hsould not be selling it online AT ALL!)

The Rhino promo cd and also a 5 track 12" are 100% real make no mistake about it. I got hold of them a few weeks ago and I can also confirm that it is the single mix and not psb mix edit.

It is true that the cover looks a bit dodgy but Rhino records are not really a big label and so probably run on a small budget and simply made these as a bit of promotion for fundamental (Hence the fundamental cover with I'm with stupid lettering)

I cannot imagine they will release any singles from the album in the US which is a shame but they would probably not make a difference anyway to be honest.

One I was bidding on also got cancelled. I doubt it's a coincidence.

Another one, 150031165478, just got cancelled. These are being cancelled by eBay, not the sellers.

Rhino apparently doesn't like people auctioning their promos. Perhaps they should consider selling these things? Nah...
