Not a big fan of A Red Letter Day, always found it quite boring but it seems to have a cult following. Bilingual has some classics though & The Survivors is one of them, along with Up Against It & To Step Aside (though TSA would have been even better without the irritating noise/sound effect thing that does it's best to spoil a great track)

Oh, am I the only one who lists A Red Letter Day as his favourite Pet Shop Boys single? I think the album version of A red letter day is one of the stronger tracks on Bilingual, despite the production. The single version made the song even more perfect, causing it to become my favourite PSB single :D

Oh, and The Survivors is my #1 Pet Shop Boys song. For my opinion about people who don't like The Survivors, I kindly refer to the song comments section on the official website.

The single version of Red Letter Day was far better when it was originally released in the form Gina G's Ooh, Ah...Just A Little Bit.
Does cameos only.

I like Red Letter Day, in particular the Trouser Enthusiasts mixes.

*lol* What madness is this? I have a terrible image of Neil in a Gina G style boob tube & spangly hot pants. Please explain yourself sir!

A red letter day.... Awsome. This thing about the choir being out of tune! When the BBC TV programme The Ozone interviewed Neil after witnessing The Choral Academy singing the Intro, he said" when we take it back to London we may shift it a bit on the COMPUTER". The vocals were fine, it must of been the programmer, sorry Pete Gleadall. Anyway,i'm not the one saying it is out of tune.
The Red vinyl is ...dare i say it,Awsome.

And it talks about my Aunt who sadly commited suicide at that time (she was a great friend of Neil's and used to work with him) so I won't say a bad word about it. I do genuinely love it as a piece of music - and it means a great deal to me as you can probably imagine.

A red letter day didn't have many collectable items for its release despite being a great song :(
A red letter day is not a 'great song', it's one of the worst songs PSB have ever done IMHO. It was a terrible mistake to release it as a single, and the video was awful too, which even PSB agree on! The choir at the start of the track is so out-of-tune and the middle bit, "you can sneer..." etc really grates and even Neil sounds like he's bored singing it! When they performed it on "Top Of The Pops", Chris lied down during the whole performance!

Along with "I Get Along", it's one of the worst singles ever by PSB and I like them all except er... A red letter day and I get along.
I love both A Red letter day and The Survivors! :D

Bilingual was a bit weak as a PSB Album. It would have been better had Neil and Chris decided to use some of the songs for Electronic instead, same for Release, It already had Johnny Marr all over it, Just get Barney in there and it would have been permissable, and if it wasn't up to snuff, it would have been excused for being a side project.
