Another "Integral" single thread...
I mean ... why not another poll whether 'Integral' or
'Sodom' would make the better fourth single release?

The fact that it is £3.99 in HMV might be of help

Integral... it's their best song since Can You Forgive Her?

Surely, it must get released as a single.

I mean, Depeche Mode can get a string of singles released off an album that didn't do too well commercially... so why not the Pet Shop Boys?

Retro. :)

Playing The Angel has sold 2,5 million copies world-wide, so I wouldn't exactly call that bad going. Even though in the UK DM are equal to PSB in popularity stakes, they are huge in Europe and South America plus much bigger in America than PSB. Also DM fan base collects singles passionately, so they'll probably ar profitable too, unlike PSB's.

...and PSB-fans don't collect singles passionately?
"Unprofessional? Us? Sir. Might I with due respect remind you that Mister Vandemar and myself burned down the City of Troy? We brought the Black Plague to Flanders. We have assassinated a dozen kings, five popes, half a hundred heroes and two accredited gods. Our last commission before this was the torturing to death of an entire monastery in sixteenth century Tuscany. We are utterly professional." - Mr Croup

But the PSB fan base is so much smaller – just contrast the sales of Release (700 000) to PTA sales (2 500 000). Did the Minimal singles really chart anywhere except in the UK? Were they even available anywhere? Whereas all three post-Precious PTA singles got Top 10 and Top 20 placings everywhere in Europe.
