I hope you are not getting bored with all the stories of fan meets etc. on the USA PSB tour BUT....... well I'm telling mine now anyway!!!!
I'll try to keep it short.....arrived in Boston 12th October and went to my hotel by taxi. The receptionist looked like CHER, very long black hair and a long face....I nearly asked for her autograph.....nearly! Next day Friday 13th I went to my hotel near the Opera House venue and later that day met with Indeedy and Rrose from the ONLINE forum. Then we went and saw Neil and Chris go into the Opera house and brief chats were had all round....but I just stood there smiling....as I do! THEN at my request as I was the 'tourist' we three trotted off to the pub/restaurant where 'CHEERS' is filmed (The famous USA comdey programme) and we ate there in the restaurant They always used the exterior but it was filmed at some studio in Boston.....anyway...The show that evening was Fantastic!! The sound seemed better than all the shows I'd been to during the summer UK festivals. Afterward about 20 of us fans lined up outside and Neil and Chris pleasantly signed whatever we had (I had my ticket, so they signed that!) I was very pleased!!
Next day Saturday 14th the three of us (Indeedy, Rrose and myself) travelled by Greyhound bus down to New York. It took about four hours and we chatted. We arrived in New York and Rrose wonderfully led us all 12 blocks dragging our small suitcases and we appreciated his valuable help and knowledge of that city to get us from A to B or our hotel!! It was literally 5 minutes walk from there to the venue at Radio City!! Before that we went off to Virgin megastore to get out 'Catalogue' books and wristbands for the evening signing. Trying to hail a taxi in New York is not easy and there is a certain 'knack' to it. The show that night was again FAB and New Yorkers really LOVE the boys
Next day Sunday 15th Indeedy and Rrose went off to continue there travels with PSB on tour
Early evening I was back at JFK and had missed my call to the flight that would have got me home. I was practically in tears because even though I'd had a fantastic time.....I just wanted to get home. The desk clerk assured me I'd get on the next flight an hour later. I did get on the 7pm flight and noticed someone very familiar.....it was Mr' Dorrell (at least I'm 95% sure it was him) the PSB manager. No.....I didn't say anything to him as it would have seemed both rude and intruding. So I kind of half smiled and took my seat. I saw him again at the luggage reclaim. I wished we could have chatted about the Catalogue signing.....but it was not to be. That is my few days in the USA in an nutshell. A wonderful experience!
