On TELEVISION in SHOWBUISNESS for PROMOTION it's VARIOUS

#1 Post by Actually »

I have been feeling a bit nostalgic recently & to get away from the DVD genere i have been viewing the classic video's of TELEVISION, SHOWBUISNESS, PROMOTION & VARIOUS. What great compilations these were, especially TELEVISION with all the excerpts from the tv performances the boys done back then. I think that they should have continued this throughout the series of compilations. The DVD format obviously killed off these video compilations but we could have been treated to a video collection of all the BILINGUAL video's & footage from Latin America during the DiscoVery tour, entitled FOREIGN!!!
VIDEOGRAPHY & defitnately POPART THE VIDEOS are the ultimate video/Dvd collections but it's nice to look back to a time when we relied on VHS.

At least VHS is reliable which cannot always be said about DVD.
All those tapes were great though. I've watched Various a lot. Sadly I never got to own Television and/or Showbusiness, (I have watched them). But I got some great Laserdisks. Various, Discovery and even It couldn't happen here!

VHS is reliable? You must be one of the lucky few people who have never had a tape chew up on them then! DVD is far better than VHS, better sound, better picture and you can have extras too! VHS was ok back in the 80's/90's, but nowadays we have DVD and it's much better. Various was great though and it's the only thing I've got the video for "Absolutely Fabulous" on, as it was sadly missing from the "PopArt" DVD.

Once my videorecorder ate my Muppets video...

I'm more than happy with DVD, though I have this tape with MTV UK recordings from 1993/1994 which is nostalgia to me. Love watching it every once and a while (PSB video clips daily on MTV, PSB Weekend (!), Popumentary, etc.).

I still think the tv-stuff on Television should be the complete performances. :D

The worst thing about VHS was getting a porno tape stuck in your parents' video.

I still have VHS. Got an old video player that can't record off a timer cos the calander stopped on 31/12/99. It chews tapes now & again, Waterworld was the last one it ate.

So I use DVD for the important stuff. (Wish they would release It Could'nt Happen Here on DVD),
