UK album dance chart...

#1 Post by DavePSB »

Fundamental has gone up this week from 31 to 14 in the chart. Hoorah!

(Perhaps the HMV sale has helped)

Does anyone have any idea of the UK sales for Fundamental up to now? Or even better where to get hold of such info? Cheers..

They should be around 65k by now in the UK.

Accoring to estimates based on the mediatraffic global charts, fundamental should be around the 360K mark worldwide

not really, Release has done 750,000 apparently and Nightlife did 1.2 million. Fundamental chart life is over, barring any unlikely revival, so it's gonna struggle to reach those figures
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

But somehow I don't believe that Fundamental only did 360 000 then. How reliable is this btw ? Fundamental was very huge in iTunes and was Top 10 all around Europe for some weeks. These sales should be taken into account too because when Nightlife and even Release were released there was no such thing like iTunes (correct me if I'm wrong please) and so many people might have bought the physical record and some people who bought Release for example physically now probably bought Fundamental via iTunes...

And Release did not sell as good as Fundamental in the UK for example although this might not be their biggest market of course. It would be interesting to know the exact figures of Fundamental really but I can't see it @ 360k when Release did 750k...

Anyone ?

I'm afraid it's more likely that the sales data of Release and Nightlife have been inflated rather than Fundamentals sales being too low. Personally, I find it very hard to believe that Nightlife has sold over a million copies and I doubt that Release would have done much more than 500.000. Sure PSB albums sell a bit here and there over the years, but not that much. I would think that older catalogue PSB albums still outsell the more recent albums (excluding Fundamental).
