A VIEW to DISGUISE

#1 Post by Actually »

After watching A life in Pop & more than 20 years at the top we have become so used to Chris Lowe wearing some sort of disguise, hat, glasses, costumes...
After all, this is the image of the Pet Shop Boys. Chris is one stylish dude.
Do you think there will ever be a period where Chris will be disguised as...Chris, no hat, no glasses, no costumes....
In the I don't know what you want.....video we get a glimpse of Chris with nothing (not literally) on. Ofcourse during West End girls, Love Comes quickly Suburbia , What have i done to deserve this ? videos he wore no disguise so do you think he will do a full circle & treat us to Chris in the flesh ?
I'm too weak to be strong

nah, not unless you get to know him in real life. Think he likes to make the two as seperate as possible ie life/work.
That's it, it's all over. We're out of here. What a Legacy! (c) Chris Lowe 2009

No, Chris will always appear with a hat, cap or sunglasses, so that he can walk around undisguised in real life, without getting noticed.

Nope, Chris should hide behind hats & sunglasses and Neil should go back to suits and er, curls.

A cap & sunglasses are a good disguise. (It works for the shoplifters) But if any of us went out in said diguise would we be mistaken for Chris Lowe :?:

It´s so marvellous to see him without glasses and a hat but it´d look weird if he took them off for some album. :D
Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?

Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

No, I don't think so and I don't hope so either because I think he looks so really cool in all his hats, caps and sunglasses. If he takes it of I start to wonder where is Chris?

Speaking of the avatar and that sort of 'disguise':
Maybe he'll appear with such a lamp shade on an
album or onstage some day ...

Yes, or an inverted tea-pot, or maybe even a pointed hat if we're lucky! ;) :P

I remember reading an interview somewhere (I'm sorry that I don't recall the source now) where Chris expressed regret that he wasn't "disguised" in some of their early videos, like West End girls and What have I done to deserve this?. I strongly suspect that we'll never again see a video or concert in which he isn't wearing at least one or the other -- a hat or glasses -- and probably both.

But, then again, who knows? He can always surprise us.

Yes he can. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw him with long blonde hair which I didn't think fitted him at all.
