Neil set to attend Matt Lucas' wedding- What will he wear?
I ran across this blurb & see that Neil is supposed to be going to the wedding of Matt Lucas. Will he dress in Panto attire?
And, if so, what will he wear.....
EXCLUSIVE: DAME ELTON
ELT PLANS WIDOW TWANKY SURPRISE FOR LITTLE BRITAIN PAL'S PANTOMIME WEDDING
Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
NOBODY does flamboyant like Sir Elt - and the Rocket Man is apparently planning to upstage the year's most outrageous wedding.
When Little Britain's Matt Lucas marries his long-time boyfriend tomorrow in a pantomime-themed extravaganza the one question on everybody's lips will be: "What will Elton John wear?"
Friends suggested yesterday he will dressing up as Widow Twankey ... so we've mocked up what Elt could look like, complete with red lippy and frilly dress.
Elton in drag (again) isn't the only thing guaranteed to get the 500 guests talking at the £300,000 star-studded bash.
The centre-piece of the wedding reception at the historic Banqueting House in Whitehall, London, will be a massive pantomime horse made of... Brussels sprouts.
Nope, we don't know why either, but Matt and Kevin have also agreed to to have a giant Dick Whittington's cat constructed out of ... wait for it... bananas.
Guests invited to the reception include fellow Little Britain star David Walliams, comic Vic Reeves, actor Anthony Head and Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant.
The tables will also be decorated with elaborate vegetable carvings - including cauliflower sculptures.
Says our mole: "As well as the pantomime idea, there will be a vegetable theme running through the celebrations for no reason other than it is just another wacky idea by the organisers.
"Not only will there be these massive vegetable and fruit sculptures, there will be an extensive veggie selection of food and a choice of soya desserts.
"They wanted something a bit different - and guests are certainly in for that."
Guests are all expected to make the effort and dress up in pantomime fancy dress costumes, including Mother Goose, Peter Pan and Captain Hook.
The dinner follows an intimate ceremony where the couple will exchange vows at Home House private members club. But it won't be until the bash at Banqueting House that things will be somewhat more...er...lively.
The plush venue was chosen after Matt's beloved mum Diana fell in love with it when she went to view it a few months ago.
The inside of the former palace - complete with a magnificent ceiling by Rubens - is also being transformed to look like the inside of a vaudeville theatre, complete with mock stage props.
It's understood that the lucky couple have not set up a wedding list and are leaving presents at their guests' discretion.
Matt, 32, met Kevin at a nightclub four years ago and the pair have kept their relationship low-key ever since.
But their extravagant wedding celebrations - staged by legendary 80s party planner Philip Salon - are in marked contrast to their stag night, held a week ago at West End nightclub Too2Much.
The pair only invited a handful of friends and spent barely £200 on the bar bill.
Saving up for tomorrow, eh?
DON'T MISS 3AM ON MONDAY for the full lowdown on Matt's big day

I get the feeling there might be quite a few Widow Twankies at this wedding... Perhaps Neil could borrow a dress from Janet Street-Porter?
It's reported in The Times too, btw.

Maybe Neil could be a spiderman. Didn´t he have Spiderman costume in the 80s ?
As for the vegetable theme... I immediately thought about that Neil´s pic in Literally from 1999 where Neil is holding two melons...

And here's an account from the telegraph.co.uk site ( if you go to their site they do have some pix to accompany the story but none are of Neil):
Little Britain star 'weds' his Prince Charming

In pictures: Panto extravaganza
With wigs and war-paint in abundance, the unconvincing "laydee" Emily would have failed to get a look-in yesterday when Little Britain star Matt Lucas celebrated his "marriage" to his long-term lover yesterday.
Guests at the most extravagant gay nuptials since Sir Elton John "wed" David Furnish were asked to dress as pantomime characters for an exuberant reception at the Banqueting House in Whitehall.
Matt Lucas [left] poses for photographers with his partner Kevin McGee following their civil partnership ceremony
And they did not disappoint as a procession of Little Red Riding Hoods, Captain Hooks, Fairy Godmothers and Buttonses poured out from taxis and a red double-decker bus and through the building's grand entrance.
Lucas, always one for the outrageous stage outfit, positively sparkled in an exotic blue and gold Ali Baba number, complete with pink and blue feathered headress.
His partner Kevin McGee, a television producer, was a perfect Prince Charming with knee-high boots in the style of Adam Ant style.
Lucas's Little Britain co-creator and co-star, David Walliams came as Tweedledum. Or, was it Tweedledee? He wasn't saying.
London seemed to have exhausted its supply of Hook costumes — and chief among the Hooks was Sir Elton John, who arrived with his own Prince Charming, Mr Furnish.
Neil Tennant, of the Pet Shop Boys, Paul O'Grady, the television presenter and Paul McKenna, the hypnotist, were just three of the many other pirate captains to come to party.
Graham Norton, the television personality, was a convincing Buttons, as was Louis Walsh, the pop producer and Stephen Gately, the former Boyzone singer. The pop singer Will Young was a less convincing Ugly Sister, while comedian Rob Brydon opted for Peter Pan.
There were chaotic scenes on the streets — just yards from Downing Street — with photographers and onlookers jostling as the guests arrived.
Inside, the building's Great Hall was transformed into a giant theatre set and a huge sign proclaiming "Whitehall Palace Theatre" greeted guests at the entrance.
Props had been ferried in by stage-hands wearing pink wigs and included a wheelchair — a hint that Little Britain's characters Andy and Lou would make an appearance, perhaps? Washing machines, tumble dryers and kitchen units were also carried inside, fuelling the imagination.
Lucas, 32, and McGee, 30, met at a nightclub four years ago but kept their relationship very private and avoided being photographed together.
To the initial disappointment of the small crowd waiting outside the Banqueting House the groom and groom arrived sans costume, in the dark suits they had worn for their civil ceremony earlier.
But within the hour, they popped outside for photographs to loud cheers. Asked how the ceremony had gone, Lucas beamed and said: "We've had lots of good wishes from the public."
Just days before the ceremony, Lucas had admitted: "I'm quite a dull dresser, so it's a chance for me to be a bit more outrageous."
They were obviously keen to keep their costumes under wraps until the last moment.
Guests were under strict orders not to bring mobile phones or cameras.
The couple made their vows at a civil partnership ceremony at Home House, a club in Portman Square, in front of family and friends, including his co-star Walliams and the presenter Dale Winton.
