So between 10 days more or less we'll have Disco 4, are you sure? I think that it will be hard, but it was true, I will be closer to heaven 6 remixes (maybe the Minimal by Ralphi) and six new songs: WOW! WOW!

Disco 3 is the best because it was approached differently. They obviously didn't consider writing new material for previous Disco's, the intention was to remix tracks from a recent album. In Catalogue, the photographer or someone like that told them he wondered why they didn't just call it Disco 3, instead of something else they were considering, to avoid fan confusion as to what this new EP was exactly. It's a comparable record in name only. Nevertheless, I think it's PSB's most underrated disc, due to the extremely low sales and 'Disco' moniker, next to maybe Bilingual. It's just fantastic, extremely danceable; full of energy yet pulling off delicate songs seamlessly.

Great album, which will perhaps most be remembered as the moment PSB got their mojo back.

Still not as good as the original Disco because it doesn't have Opportunities (Version Latina) on it.

Disco 3 MINUS the remixes, PLUS some track tracks from the PopArt era would have made a great album.

Let's just replace some tracks...

Positive Role Model
Try It (I'm In Love With A Married Man)
Flamboyant
Somebody Else's Business
Here (PSB new extended mix)
If Looks Could Kill
Transparent
Miracles
We're the Pet Shop Boys

I never thought much of Disco 3, here's why.

1. Time On My Hands - this is pretty good, a highlight.
2. Positive Role Model - I don't really like this too much.
3. Try It - Excellent, BUT I like the John Peel version better.
4. London (radikal blaklite edit) - Excellent - one of the best remixes they've had done
5. Somebody Else's Business - A bit useless, IMO.
6. Here - better than the album version, but that's not really saying much.
7. If Looks Could Kill - I like the John Peel version, this is just OK.
8. Sexy Northener (remix) - useless
9. Home And Dry (Blank & Jones mix) - totally bland trance-by-the-numbers of a pretty bad song.
10. London (piano mix) - excellent!

So basically I really like the two new versions of London and Time On My Hands. I also like the two John Peel tracks, but liked them better as demos. The rest I could easily do without.

Well... it seems like you have the EXACT same taste as myself : I agree with everything you are saying!

Still... I still find that the PSB were somehow better in the 80's. I love Disco(1) best.

Everything on this cd I adore! This is my favourite from the Disco series, the first one, blah. I have it on my cd player.

Some news songs are rerally good, but the remixes by Superchumbo and Felix are between the worst ever released for PSB. London piano mix is amazing, one of the best tracks of the CD after Here, my favourite, and Positive Role Model.
