I'm pretty tired of the endless talk about the artists sexual preferences. I really don't care who Neil and Chris sleeps with. I find it annoying when Neil is interviewed on BBC World, and several minutes of the interview is focused on him being gay. Who cares? I like their music, as I like several other bands, homosexual or not. (Yes - I like Erasure too).
There was one time though, when I felt a bit strange about it. I'd made a CD for a friend and, obviously, put the current new PSB track on. Some days later we were driving in his car, playing the CD, and suddenly Neil was singing "Try it, try it, - I'm in love with a married man". I felt a bit embarrased by that and thought - "Hmmmmm - I guess I shouldn't have put that on....."
When I met my girlfriend, 13 years ago, I'm sure she thought I was a bit obsessed by PSB and was spending too much time and money on it. But today she sees it as a hobby and supports that 100%. She has never become a fan, but she went with me to the concert on Skanderborg Festival 2004, and enjoyed it very much. She looked a bit puzzled though, when her 35 year old boyfriend was chasing the tourbus, trying to get a photo.
