I'm not hotheaded, nor do I bitch about Depeche Mode or the user who opened this topic. I posted some criticism, purely about the content. I requested some common sense.

I'm confident had you had moderator status the natural progression would be to delete the initial thread, yeah.
If I were the moderator of this forum, I would indeed close this thread and request the user to post information about a birthday in an already existing general topic of that artist, yes. But such an action would be part of the forum rules. A request not to flood the Off Topic section with unnecessary topics that add absolutely nothing, would be part of such posting guidelines. It has absolutely nothing to do with power. I hope you realise that I also have free speech?

What's there to *debate* about a birthday?

And why on earth do you qualify my criticism as bullying? Are you actually aware of the fact that this a
discussion forum? In my opinion, this is a place for DETAILED discussion about Pet Shop Boys. If Neil Tennant broke his toe nail, you can open a topic about it. But if you want to discuss other artists at a same detailed level, I really think you should do so on a forum for that artist.
Like I said: general topics about other artists and their new albums, or big news events are totally fine with me, but really... a birthday... jeez... - It doesn't interest non-Depeche Mode fans, it interests only Depeche Mode fans, who have several DM forums to choose forum. The user who opened this topic even runs one! Fine with me if she constantly wants to link PSB with Erasure and DM. Do so on your own forum, but not here. This forum was NOT launched to discuss every tiny detail of DM, or any other artist that's not Pet Shop Boys.
