I think the show made a very good point about there being less pretentious pop stars these days. Pop's become more about keeping it real and reflecting the lives of the audience rather than magical aspiration. It's The Streets phenomenon - mundane tales of mundane lives. Any pop song that uses the word 'mate' is just plain wrong.

And yes I am a snob.
