I don't see why the kids of someone in California should be any more "important" to me than those of someone in Mali.
I dont concede you have points because I'm starting to think your posts are all engineered by the script writers of south park as they are so obviously tasteless and come off as a joke.
Laffo. At least my points are rooted in reality. I use evidence and cogent arguments to support my points; you use bigotry and hyperbole.

Yeah, as I pointed out before, your kneejerk reactionary attitude on this issue means you're letting base emotion cloud your mind. Emotion has no place in the justice system.

Oh, and it's a fact that most child sex abusers have been the victims of sex abuse themselves; you can try and deny it because it makes you feel uneasy about your hatred, but it doesn't stop it being a fact.

It may well be fact, i wont argue that point but if someone was abused as a child, surely when they are an adult they know right from wrong and to use such an exscuse for their crime is bollox. Criminals get away with their crimes far too easily. They get comfortable cells, something they surely gave up the right to. Some have been sent on holiday  Reduced sentences and now a plan to not send drug abusers to prison at all because they are 'too full'.

You don't pay for your crime anymore, crime pays.

I think that's sort of my point. They don't know right from wrong, because their growing and learning stage, where you learn the difference between right and wrong, was perverted by someone who told them it was okay to touch little kids down there. These people are mentally ill. Their minds are warped in a way you can't (or don't want) to understand. A lot of people hate them; I just pity them.

Well, look. It depends whether you want to punish people who break the law, even to the detriment of society. Treating prisoners like shit is just counter-productive. I won't say every criminal is, or even can be, reformed, but you must understand that if we don't even give prisoners basic, decent accommodation, that we're going to see an increase in re-offending rates.

At the end of the day, it rather depends on what you think the main aim of prison should be; punishing people who transgress, or trying to reduce crime. I've always been rather more of a fan of the latter, since I'm not at all vindictive and I prefer to think with my brain rather than my gut on these issues.

Well, I don't agree with sending drug users to jail at all, but that's mainly because I believe drugs should be decriminalised. That's a whole other debate altogether though!

There were two incidents in Britain last year that stand out. One was a young child being taken out of her own bath by some freak show that sneaked into her house. He sexually assaulted here and then let her go, alone, in the middle of nowhere.

Another was where a man and a women raped a 12 month old baby for a laugh. Sorry, but these are not 'mere sex crimes'. I don't think anyone could imagine a more repulsive act of butality.

Dave
and there was one here in america where a guy raped a little girl and buried her in a box in the ground...alive. it turns out she suffocated to death. can you imagine the fear for this little girl even after the sex attack was over, being put into a box and put in the earth, total darkness?

I mean I dont care how proffesional or unemotional one is. thats just above and beyond any regular classification of crime one could allot to that sorry piece of shit.

I wish there was as much effort for the less cute abducted children.

How much would such a system cost? I guarantee the money spent would save about 1000 times as many lives if it was spent on helping those children born into poverty rather than paranoid and illiberal false-security measures.
Indeed. What an utterly idiotic idea for even more reasons than this.

The thing is: children need to be looked after all the time. I should know, I have two sons, aged 4 or 6. It's getting better now, but for many years, the minute you turned your back on them, they would be running among the traffic, climbing trees, jumping off cliffs etc. Having to watch out for childcatchers is the least of the worries of any self-respecting parent. Now, if the kids were operated to have chips, this would actually encourage parents to leave them unattended for short periods of time, thinking that they are safe. Naturally not all parents, but enough of them so the benefits of having few children less kidnapped would be statistically bulldozed by the number of kids getting killed or seriously injured in ordinary traffic and other accidents.

If I was a child, I would like to have a chip if it helped others to find me when at some moment I got lost.

If I was a child, I would like to have helicopter blades surgically implemented on my back, so I could fly over the skyline and say hi to the man on the moon.

but its not a helicopter blade inserted in your back.
these things are nano technology ....there to help.

you guys better get used to technology cause I have to tell you, if you think a tiny GPS chip on your child somewhere is cause for alarm wait till you see other things that I am sure to follow.

but as everyone pretty much knows but dares not say cause it would ruin their own argument, come back on this topic when your child has been taken and your wife is throwing the china set at you screamin about why didnt you just take the precaution.thats how fast life turns on you.

It must be lost in your translation. He's saying he wishes there was as much effort to save ALL children who have gone missing - not just the pretty ones.

Now, let's think how this particular case would have been prevented. Either

a) let's implant every kid on the western hemisphere wth a computer chip so they can be traced.

or

b) let's not leave our 2- and 3-year-old kids unattended just so we can have a quiet meal in the restaurant across the street.

It's a no-brainer really.
