Try to guess ...

#1 Post by Nickname »

Well, we are living boring times in the PSB world nowadays. So just for fun, I want you to try to guess which best selling artists psb would accept to work with (according to your opinion).

I mean, if someone of these commercial pop singers wanted to work with PSB, what kind of answer would they receive from Neil and Chris according to you?, yes or no?.
When I say (work with), I'm talking about something more than remixing a song (of course), for example: a production, a duet, etc.

The list (you can add more names if you want):

- Michael Jackson
- Madonna
- Eminem
- Britney Spears
- Depeche Mode
- Celine Dion
- U2
- Prince
- Shakira

- Britney Spears No
- Depeche Mode No
- Celine Dion No
- U2 No (PSB might like to, just for the sake of it, for fun, but Bono might not want ... Image )
- Prince No
- Shakira No

They already said no to Britney.
Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?

Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

They wouldnt. coz the kind of artists you are thinking of are perceived as "cool". And the PSB dont follow "cool".. ;) thats what makes them cool

Boring times? After a great tour and the release of Cubism? Where are you?

What about something different, like Vangelis or Jean Michel Jarre?

Arent they good friends with Paul McCartney? I'm not overly keen on him but if you are talking about big names, McCartney is an option.

Maybe something classical. Catherine Jenkins has a great set of 'lungs' ;)

- Michael Jackson - NO, he's too far downhill. Didn't deliver one decent song, the past 9 years.

- Madonna - YES, absolutely. They are fans of eachother.

- Eminem - YES, PSB are wetting their pants when they think of this possibility. Apparently they like someone who digs a grave for his own mother in his videoclip.

- Britney Spears - NO, obviously. See recent news items about it.

- Depeche Mode - NO, it simply wouldn't work.

- Celine Dion - YES, there's always some nice left-over song on the shelf that Celine could sing...

- U2 - NO, PSB ridiculized U2 in the past. Working with them now would be hypocrite.

- Prince - NO, music style is too different. Prince is funk nowadays. PSB are anything but funk.

- Shakira - NO, voice is just too irritating. PSB prefer *talented* people...

For Erasure and DM, PSB would say HELL NO!

Those bands first of all do not do remixes for others plus the combo of Erasure & PSB is like a bad cocktail. Sometimes a bad cocktail does not sound too bad, but can be a bit too sour!

Thinking Britney Spears and or Michael Jackson would fit the bill!

They couldn't work with Erasure. PSB like to use Tesco quality, not go shopping at Farm Foods.I couldn't bare to hear the tinny, plinkety plonk sound these days. The only way you will get a PSB/Erasure sounding record is if you put on a PSB cd, then go press your doorbell indiscriminantly for 4 minutes.

A collaboration with Sophie Eliis Bextor was something that i always found appealing.

What about Kraftwerk or Sparks. Just something a bit different from the usual 'big names'.

PSB usually duet with solo artists anyway. So my choice would be SEB.

Yes it was just a rumour that she brought up and they denied it. But if they can work with Yoko, they can work with Michael Jackson.
