now just to add fuel to the fire ( for a bit of fun ) , is there something going on in regards to the Disco albums if you look at the series in regards to the period of time between the previous album release ??????????
Please 24 03 86 - Disco 1 17 11 86 = 7 months
Very 27 09 93 - Disco 2 12 09 94 = 12 months
Release 01 04 02 - Disco 3 03 02 03 = 9 months
Fundamental 22 05 06 - Disco 4 ? 07 07 = 14 months
now is there some sort of rhythm going on here ???????????????????

And there is tide of jokes about LB' single apparently coming...
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."

I'm somewhat shocked about the announcement on the HMV website. It's usually a reliable source for future PSB releases, so it suggests that Disco 4 is actually being planned.
I really wonder what the album will be like, if it indeed sees the light of day. Will it be similar to Disco 3, compiling some leftover tracks and remixes? Will it be all new (unreleased) tracks (there's enough on the shelves), or will it only feature remixes? Existing ones? New ones? Of which songs? Only recent material or also remixes of old PSB classics?
BTW: I really hope that the 7-inch edit of Fugitive will be on the release, OR on the eventual cd-single of Integral as a double A-side.

I believe and hope that the stuff on Fundamentalism won't be included, except perhaps for that edit of Fugitive – if it even exists. I really hope it follows the Disco 3 blueprint: hopefully 4-5 new songs, 3-4 new remixes and perhaps one or two already available remixes of I'm with stupid and Minimal. But please, no In Private in any guise!dVTB wrote:I'm somewhat shocked about the announcement on the HMV website. Quite a few of the remixes were UNRELEASED commercially on CD and only available on downloads.
If this release is confirmed, we'll probably see the likes of...
I'm With Stupid (PSB Maxi Mix)
Minimal (Ralphi Rosario Mix)
Psychological (Ewan Pearson Mix)
In Private (Tomcrap Mix)
Fugitive (7" Mix)
Integral (new remix)

Unlike with Disco and Disco 2, PSB and EMI know that only hardcore fanbase will buy the probable Disco 4. And that diehard fanbase in all likelihood already owns the Fundamental singles. Which means that they know there has to be enough unreleased stuff to entice us, but to cut the costs they will throw in some previously released stuff like perhaps the Tocadisco mix of Minimental or that dreaded mix of In Private.

I'm actually quite excited about all this now. Disco 3 was rather good overall and if 4 follows along the same lines, I'll be happy. I'm looking forward to the tracklisting and I hope this isn't something cruel, elaborate hoax perpuated by an evil psb fan working for hmv.
I confess that I do quite like the Tiga mix I can't explain it and nor would I want it on the album. I suppose that theres a very good chance of a new mix of Integral, be it a touched up radio mix or a commisoned remix by someone or other, I know its a song that rarely gets a mention in these parts, but its almost a certainty to be on the album in some form.
Oh, and I wouldn't have thought anything on Fundamentalism would make it onto D4, that would be unacceptably half-assed and lazy.

Joemoz on the other forum reported it first. But the fact that HMV is selling it on their website means that it's not only a rumour. It might still not happen (No Time For Tears single was also advertised in some web shop) but EMI is currentlöy sending out signals of it now being in the pipeline.Pet Shop Girl wrote:So where did this rumour start? Its all over the PSB forums.
