'The only one' really seems to polarize doesn't it. I think it, and 'Footsteps', are some of the weakest, melody free, songs in their cannon. I've only listened to them twice I'd say

I tried to get into these 2 songs, but these are the 2 weakest tracks for me on the album. I just don't like them.

I love the opening song: the magic treble FYOG, CTH and I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more: fantastic.
I love all the songs of this album but not In Denial and Boy Strange. The others are very good a so much underrated album for sure.
"The Only One" summed up the end of a seven year relationship for me. I played it to my ex-girlfriend as we drove to see PSB in Manchester in 99, and she saw herself in the lyrics.
Closer to Heaven and For Your Own Good are awesome tracks though. I think I prefer the rawer sounding demos of them.
I sometimes wonder who decides what tracks to release...for your own good would have been a top 5 hit easy...was amazing....why oh why....maybe one day we will hear why it was not released.
"did you get what you want?, Do you know what it is? do you care?"
