Why are so many disliking..."NUMB"?!?!

I absolutely agree with everything in that statement! My only small issue is that I think Integral should be remixed (sounding less like 1994) to be a single, whereas Fugitive and TSAGS are perfect for single releases in their current production (except that Fugitive should be edited).

I have to agree with dVTB as well, even though I might not like Indefinite Leave as much as him, its still a lovely song. Casanova in Hell is easily one of their best post Very songs and an album highlight for me. Its a pity really when we have to talk about songs being edited just for the sake of radio, imagine It's a Sin having to be edited for single release; how ludicrous would that be ? Different times I guess.

I don't dislike Numb, and will listen to it when the mood fits, though I don't have it in my playlisted version of Fundamental which drops a couple of tracks in favour of b-sides.

Yes me too, or that, the aftermath of the war between the west and islam, perpretrated by the west to reduce earths population, theres just too many of us to control now.

People in positions like the boys, celebrities, tend to find out things that the general public dont get to hear. Or if like me, you know several people in the forces.

One of the MOST EVOCATIVE PSB songs EVER.

Don't discount it because it may not mean anything to you @ the moment ...
BUT --- SOME DAY IT WILL.

Numb sounds like a Backstreet Boy or NSync or a 98degrees number to me.

That being said however...my wife loves it and she's a more devoted PSB fan than I am. She said the orchestral reminded her of the Behavior era.

The intro always reminds me of "Lament" from the EVITA musical (it's one of my top 3 EVITA songs), the middle part right after Evita passed away and Che begnns singing.Check it out!

Great haunting melody. Very original arrangement/production. Moves from subtle beautiful verses to a rousing chorus.

I basically love everything about it.

hear hear, I think I've only listened to it once or twice in total, there is nothing to draw you in. I love Psychological though so perhaps my tastes deviate from those of the majority here

I don't think it holds well to argue that a song is very good because when something happens it will be a staple for you et etc...I mean, I never knew the lyrics of This Must be the Place I waited years to leave (my English was awful then), but it always gave a deep heartache to me, always took me to lonely train stations at a war time, saying goodbye to all your dears, lover or friends. It was a very strong favourite of mine long before I knew the lyrics.

I was shocked to read that it was actually based on Neil's boarding school memories, nothing to do with love or war or disappointment etc I just negated all my interpretation. But it still gives me a very deep hearache, makes me want to cry for no apparent reason...The same goes for Don't Cry by Gun's'roses, Unforgiven by Metallica and Soldier of Fortune by Deep Purple...

On the other hand, Numb means nothing. It gives me only utter boredom. And I guess when your mother dies, everything makes you feel numb. even catatonic

Yes, it's a beautiful song. I especially love the appetite/sybarite rhyme.
