Which unreleased track should be on Disco 4?

#1 Post by dVTB »

Disco 3, the previous disco album, featured an old PSB track that was previously unreleased: If Looks Could Kill. Pet Shop Boys have many unreleased tracks on the shelves. A couple of them are commonly known by fans, because they leaked:

- You've Got To Start Somewhere
- Motoring
- Only Love
- Little Black Dress
- Tall Thin Men
- Powerful Friend
- In The Club Or In The Queue
- Bubadubadum
- Oh Dear

Which one of these would you like to hear in a finished version on Disco 4?

Although these are great to listen to, they are also very quaint. I could imagine In The Club Or In The Queue to be remixed and to sound reasonably fresh, but the other two ooze early 1980s. Best to leave them what they are: embryonic PSB.

I can't stand Motoring, A Powerful Friend is one long whine and Tall Thin Men, well, just isn't Disco.
But You've Got To Start Somewhere, Only Love and A Little Black Dress have potential, the first of which wouldn't sound bad at all in a remix I would think.

I would also rather have new stuff but out of that group you've got to start somewhere.

Some new one. Have heard all of those dVTB mentioned. I wanna hear Nu Sleaze still. Just anything in which you can hear Chris´s voice.
Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?

Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

I haven't heard any of them, so it's hard to judge by title alone.

Totally new stuff.

PSB should release those leaked tracks on a fanclub CD.

OK, I will be honest: I opened this topic, because I'm dying to hear a finished version of You've Got To Start Somewhere. I really hope it will appear someday. And I think Disco 4 would be a nice opportunity to release it. :)

I'm also keen on a proper version of Motoring, but that sounds more like a B-side to me.

''Ring road'', ''China''....
Yes, I agree, but Disco 3 also featured an 'old' track that was properly finished. My question is meant as: IF they decide to include an old track on Disco 4, which one would you like to hear in a finished version?

Of course I also prefer an album with 10, all-new dance tracks :P
