BlueSwan, I see no point in further discussion with you. You and I disagree strongly. You state that adults can cope with large degrees of freedom on internet, you also think JSP has a brilliant sense of humour. If this is still your opinion after reading the 'contributions' of JSP on the Shop Boyz topic, I can only conclude that you have a bad taste. An example of JSP 'humour' is editing the user page of a Wikipedia moderator, adding the word 'FASCIST !!!!!' - How funny.
I think Eldritch has put it pretty well. I thought that JSP's contributions to the Shop Boyz site were funny - some more than others, but overall very funny. I never saw that bit about Downs Syndrome and I never saw the "second bit" referring to you. The fact that I generally find JSP to be a funny poster doesn't mean that I have to necessarily think that everything he posts is funny or even appropriate. Just like the fact that I genuinely like glennjridge as a poster, doesn't have to mean I have to agree with his political views. Infact, I totally disagree with most of his political views - I still not only respect him, but also like him and generally enjoy reading his posts. I also genuinely like you, even though I don't agree with everything you write.
Now you seem to have a problem with me and others not "intervening" against others, but only against you. Not only is this a rather paranoid view, but you also assume that people should always at any time speak up when something happens that they don't quite agree with. But people have different preferences. I like sarcastic humour, I like black humour - I generally have very high tolerance for humour, even when others might find it out of line. Even when I do think something is out of line, I'd usually not comment on it, since I know that the
intent was not malicious, but to have a bit of fun.
What I have always had a bit of a problem with is selfappointed internet police and this doesn't just mean you, which you ought to be aware of. I don't like it when adults take "moral" stands against other adults "debate ethics" and my general experience is that those people are usually just as bad as the ones that they try to police, with some exceptions. I think your own behaviour in this thread is pretty much evidence to that. If you manage to calm yourself down and actually read this thread through, focusing only on the posts that I, Eldritch and yourself have made, I'm sure you'd see that the malicious posts were not made by either Eldrictch or myself. When we speak of morals I believe that one always should make sure that ones own path is clear, before critizing the path of others.
The person reacting oversensitive is you. You post a message in a public forum, bashing me for editing a Wikipedia topic you aren't even involved, nor interested in.
It's not true that I wasn't interested in the Shop Boyz article. I was very interested in it. What I'm not interested in was your whole debate on whether it was hypocritical to refer to Wiki in one post and critizise it in the next post. I'm still not interested in that "issue", which I find to be a definite non-starter.
I posted that message because I found your spoilsportish behaviour strange and annoying. Simple as that. No vendetta against you - had someone else done it, I would have spoken up against it as well.
I don't consider this discussion a little argument. If you wanted to keep it little, you could have sent me a pm about it, I could have given you a more detailed explanation about my decision to act (including examples), but you had to post in public that I'm a humourless prefect. So stop the crap about appreciating my posts or similar nonsense. I loathe people who act the way you do.
What's wrong with writing about it in the forum? This is a debate forum. You yourself posted in this very thread that you had edited the page, it seemed perfectly appropriate to have a debate about that here. What exactly is it that I do that you loathe so much - I still fail to see this. The only thing I have done it to speak up against behaviour that I disagreed with. I have taken part in this discussion in a way that I'm sure everyone would describe as more civil than your own way.
