Do You Reckon....

#1 Post by Blockhead »

That Neil and Chris recorded some songs just for thir own personal use?

i.e Their own versions of their favourite tunes but they are never going to release them.

Just to listen to them at home you mean? Or in the car?

Maybe - but if anything was that good then why not release it?

I seem to remember Neil saying that sometimes Chris would programme a bassline and just sit and listen to it!

Yeah, sort of.

Ive always imagined Neil doing his own versions of songs but then just storing them on tape.

My next door neighbour is learning the guitar so hes repeating "Smells Like Teen Spirit" over and over. If he ever becomes famous, I doubt he'll release it!

That sort of thing

I'm sure they record lots of things for fun that are never meant for release. how many people who write songs have written songs about the person they were dating at the moment? alot I imagine.
just as I assume they screw around with alternate versions of their songs.

I doubt we would ever get anything like those alternate versions till the box set comes along.you know, maybe a reggae version of opportunities or somethin they did when they were in the studio with a couple boxes of wine and some peyote.

Didn't Neil and Chris work on an electroclash version of Smells like Teen Spirit? I wonder if that often gets played in private? Would love to hear it!
