I had one of my best laughs ever when our old teacher told us about his trip to Italy. He had been on a boat, then suddenly saw something interesting far away, and told his wife to look over there. The Finnish word for that is "katso!" (= "look!")
Can you imagine the faces of all the old Italian ladies after that!! Oh my God, he was so embarrased as he didn't know what he had said, and no one wanted to tell him. Everybody just thought he's a pervert.
Even my Finnish-Italian dictionary advices not to use that word in Italy.
Madonna's songs on mass- release albums are a mixed bag: although there are some good songs,
it's on the REMIXES where these "sketches" become mighty. On the albums, her rhymes and lyrics seem sing-songy and nursery rhyme-ish. Mixed into some tremendous, pumping electronic dance music, they truly come alive.
Give it 2 me and Dance 2night will make fab, crowd pleasing dance mixes. (4 Minutes remix by Junkie XL is wonderful btw). "Beat Goes On" has potential if they eliminate Kanye West from it.
"Incredible" and esp. "Miles Away " might make for some creative interpretation live on her summer tour. Miles Away is already v pretty, but the lyrics- make you wonder about the Ritchies marriage, lol.
Tickets are already being sold at StubHub (a controversial "service" that's meant to take a bite out of scalpers, money going back to the artist/business entity) for Madison Sq. Garden in NYC.
Best tix are $7000 apiece. Assuming you won't want to go alone, $14,000 seems kind of steep for a date, -dinner and meeting Madonna definitely not included.
The worst seats are about $200. But just the fact that this site is already selling them before the "official" sale date, even to her fan club, shows what a sham it all is.
Even PSB- my so called "advance" tix led to decidedly mediocre, distant seats in SF. Concerts can be such a rip-off . I'll wait for the DVD.
