Couldn't be bothered to watch it because of how Rangers have played in the competition. Nothing wrong with their approach, you have to play to your strengths but sooner or later, they were going to go behind and not have any answers because of the way they set up. Having seen a bit of Rangers this season, their defence is poor and it's actually the way the whole team is set up that gets them the clean sheets.
The only time i have seen them attack this year against a decent side, was the 2 games v Celtic and they lost them both. Definatly missing Alan Hutton. They have still had a good season though but thats more to do with the other teams being average, rather than Rangers being a top side.

To be fair, how many of those morons are actually true fans? I bet the majority of the trouble causers haven't been to a game all season. It was just an easy place to get to and with it being in England, an opportunity to wreck the place

Having seen this appalling behaviour on the t.v, UEFA have to act. Quite simply, Rangers should be kicked out of European competition for a few seasons. At first, i thought it was a few dozen idiots but it was a full scale riot.
What i can't understand is why 100,000+ supporters travelled to Manchester in the first place. Do they not own a t.v? Who in their right minds would travel 200 miles to a shitty city to watch a game in the outdoors, when they could watch it at home?

Someone I know who was there reckons it was Manchester casuals who attacked the policeman. No doubt that it was Rangers fans who wrecked the car, though.
A load of drunken Scottish thugs in an English city - it was always going to end in tears.
Also, before criticising us, they should remember when places like Lisbon, Stuttgart and Rotterdam (especially Rotterdam) got the "Engerland treatment"!

Because about 99,800 of that 100,000 wanted to enjoy themselves and have a party. Don't let the media blinker you, we aren't all mindless thugs up here. Yes, the tv images are bad, as are the YouTube clips, but that's two isolated incidents that are being played up. Most of the YouTube clips just show a very littered Manchester with a few Rangers fans fighting each other. Remember, that Weegies and Edinbuggers will fight each other wherever they are.Undertaker wrote:What i can't understand is why 100,000+ supporters travelled to Manchester in the first place. But it's not about English fans. I don't deny that the English have behaved like wild animals but they have been punished for it. You can't say ''what about the English'' everytime another countries fans go wild.
The state Manchester was left in was down to more than 200 fans. Sorry, but those 100,000 had no reason to be there at all. And if all this rioting was done by English fans, the team(s) would be punished and i do think Rangers will be and rightly so.
UEFA seem to be finding some balls for once and punishing everyone who cannot behave. Feyenoord and Inter being the last 2 to get bans. Feyenoord were actually thrown out the competition last season.
I also don't understand why it was held at Man City's ground. It must hold around 45,000 and when all the lard arses from UEFA have gobbled up the free tickets, that would leave about 18-20,000 tickets for each team. For a cup final, thats poor.
And who is that moron that is in charge of Rangers' security? He more or less blamed the big screen failing for the riots.

I am a Celtic supported and I hate taking sides with Rangers but I must say that it is unfair to ask them not to travel, Rangers got all the way to the final without a single arrest home and away, I also think that 100,000 fans traveling was to be expected, It was their first final in 36 years. What I have heard from several sources is that the there were a lot of Chelsea casuals there with one intention and that was to cause as much trouble as possible,( which was happening way before the screen failed) The infighting was mostly between those casuals and the true fans who were there to experience the final, this was also backed by the cop that was beaten up.
It also looks like they wont be hammered as it happened away from the ground.

Not even that - Rangers only received around 13,000 tickets. Disgraceful!Undertaker wrote: I also don't understand why it was held at Man City's ground. Zenit received the same, which means that about 18,000 tickets went to the neutrals, i.e., the UEFA freeloaders.CBA wrote:Not even that - Rangers only received around 13,000 tickets. Zenit got 9 000 tickets. Scotish fans got almost the same but... there were 150 000 fans in Manchester from Glazgo and 10 000 from Saint-Petersburg.Fugitive1979 wrote:Zenit received the same, which means that about 18,000 tickets went to the neutrals, i.e., the UEFA freeloaders.CBA wrote:Not even that - Rangers only received around 13,000 tickets.
