Poor Frei who was injured and is off tournament after only 45 mins ...

Looking forward to the second game of the day, Germany - Poland

Maybe you've watched another game but I didn't see much of Ronaldo
and it wasn'n him who scored for Portugal.

The English commentators, creaming their pants just because Ronaldo is on this planet, let alone on the pitch!

Kris wrote:I can't stand the ITV commentators. Peter 'Alan Partridge' Drury is even worse, in my opinion. Having said that, the BBC isn't much better. John Motson is becoming more and more like a cariacature of himself, while Mark 'not-so' Bright and Mark 'oh-so witty' Lawrenson are bland and state the bleeding obvious most of the time.
I'm no fan of the BBC's coverage but whenever international football is on ITV, you actually start to miss the likes of smarmy Lineker and 'It's the way I tell 'em' Lawrenson. First off, that bloke who normally presents the Championship is every bit as unctuous and unfunny as Lineker and then there's Gary Neville, a face you could never tire of punching. That bloody bland Irish bloke who pops up on sports shows 'for the ladies' is for some reason on the streets of London 'interviewing' fans and that's even before you have to listen to the commentators. At least on the BBC, you can switch to Five Live's commentary and although I hate Alan Green, it's still preferable to 'Barcelona.....Moscow.....oh no I've just creamed myself over Ronaldo's tackle' Tyldesley.

It was hilarious to watch Klose shank the ball hopelessly and then hear Lawrenson wax lyrical about German strikers' technique (OK I know Podolski's finish was brilliant, but still...;))

Yep fantastic second goal and Italy have been completely outplayed. They've got to get Cassano and/or Del Piero on to make things happen in the second half.

And what does Holland after 2-0? Kick the ball back to the goal-keeper. Terrible!

The tournament finally comes to life with a masterclass from the Dutch. The perfect antidote to the snoozefest earlier in the day. I only hope Spain can live upto the hype and actually deliver for a change as a Holland vs. Spain semi could be quite tasty on the evidence of tonight.

Both goals by the native Polish Podolski... and they have Miroslav Klose scoring many times for them as well.
