Deschanel wrote:Better than dating someone who's already a fan, I took great pleasure and pride in turning my former BF, now friend, ON to PSB. Our relationship really started when I played him that advance snippet from Italian radio from "Radiophonic", on a beach in summer, and he later hummed amorously,
"I think I'm in love.."

My standing with him further skyrocketed when I burnt him a CD of PSB mixes and rarities; he might not have been a PSB fan but a lot of his (gay) summer housemates were, and when he played the CD on long drives back to the city, they were impressed enough to say, marry him now! :)

PSB fans dating each other is cool, as long as there's no violent quarrels over Disco 2. (It could happen!) Anyone turn a loved one onto PSB?
Ahhh! That is soooo romantic! :) And yes, it's a total high turning somebody onto music that touches you. In a way, it's one of the nicest compliments because music says so much about a person, and for me PSB is such a big part of who I am that for somebody to get excited about PSB too - makes me very happy! That said, I've had guys fake their enthusiasm just to get on the right side of me which is sad and worthy of a dumping!

I have a crush on a girl. I played her It's a sin once. She said she had heard it and I think she´s ok with PSB. Gotta find out more. :)

So glad my wife and I have similar tastes in music. It makes life so much easier.
Stay the course or change it up?

Sounds amusing to date a PSB fan. It seems I´ll have to travel abroad...

"It´s fundamental that we do only exist in our own universe. When you like Pet Shop Boys, you are in our world. This is absolutely crucial to our entire outlook...what we do has an incredibly strong identity and applies only to us. It´s a case of not recognising the existence of anybody else!". Neil Tennant.

There are some very sweet stories in here. That's nice. I'm not sure what my husband thinks of PSB yet. He is not into them, but he doesn't mind when I play them and I think he enjoys a few songs. I must "convert" him...although it might be a hard thing to do...he loves AC/DC...

I made a good friend become a fan of PSB. He's not my boyfriend, but we hang out lots of times.

I met someone in a PSB chat-room once whom I fancied and he fancied me too. We talked lots of times and finally we had set up a date and place to meet. A week before we had a fight and I haven't seen him ever since. Sad.. Oh well, if I'm lucky, I'll find someone else before I turn 80... lol

In a nutshell, you can really expand your music collection by NOT dating a PSB fan.

Never dated anyone who liked PSB, in fact my ex detested them.

Not sure if I'd wanna date a fellow pethead.

Aw, some of the stories in here are so sweet!

Well, I've already related my partner's distaste over in the Homophobic thread. I don't hold it against him, though (too much ;) ). Good luck to all of you looking for a fellow PSB fan to date.
And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...
