Goldfrapp - Hairy Trees
I only heard this song yesterday and I have become totally fixated by it. Perhaps hypnotised is a more accurate description.

It's a beautiful track. Saw them live last night in Manchester. Her vocals during Utopia were more stunning than on the studio version. Bewitching.

Re: Goldfrapp - Hairy Trees
"Hairy Trees" is probably my favorite Goldfrapp track ever- a beautiful song with an awful name. It really is gorgeous and hypnotic, but it's also filled with emotion. Alison Goldfrapp tends to turn that quality in her singing on and off. "Hairy Trees" is one where she really is singing honestly , with vulnerability. And the music managed to be both bubbling liquid (the burbling synths) and sweeping air (the soaring strings). It manages to be both cinematic yet personal at the same time. It's amazing.
So cool that you are loving it, James. There's a fan version on YouTube mixing the song with footage of doomed 60's Warhol superstar Edie Sedgwick that I thought really moving and well-done, actually.
("Hairy Trees Edie" in the Search on YouTube will probably summon it.)
Fantastic song.

I love Goldfrapp- Black Cherry is one of my favourite albums ever. Everyone should buy it... it's amazing.
I love Train, and Black Cherry off the album in particular, but the whole collection is fab from start to finish. Each album is so different that it's great... although not so keen on the newer stuff. A bit folky for my tastes.
