Free Blue Swan album "Fire And Flames"

#1 Post by BlueSwan »

Here's our brand new album "Fire And Flames" for free download at megaupload:

128 kbs: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WDZWMQ8Z
192 kbs: http://www.sendspace.com/file/w0o2b7

The album was actually ready several months ago, but I have wanted to remaster several tracks and to level the volume of the individual tracks. However, I've been to busy to do so, and now I just want to get it over with and let people listen to it. Most people won't notice the differences anyway.

Some people here will have heard some of the songs before, but there are a lot of new songs as well. While it is an amateur production, I would imagine that a number of PSB fans would find something to enjoy here. For those interested, this is our third album, following Sinister But Fragile fra 2004 and Intentionally Miserable from 2005.

Let us know what you think of it.

Thank you very much for the gift. You obviously are talented Blue Swan and after a few listens I must say your music reminds me of PSB in places, though you have managed to make it your own style. Will definitely play the album more
Go fast!

I really like Jealousy. It's great to hear Do I Have To and Do Me Right get an airing. They must be scarily old now?

awesome! I would have paid for this if you put it on I-tunes like I keep telling you to do.

as of right now I'm really loving...

chief of the tribe
fake romance
jealousy
everyone I know
this is not goodbye

some of these I've heard, others like chief of tribe and fake romance this is not goodbye
I hadnt.
on the fake romance one lush kinda sounds like shades of john lennon when he sings in a lower range like on his song intuition. love those bendy sounding synth parts on it.

your arrangements and the sounds you use always sound so spacey and reverby which I love.

I cant tell if thats a real guitar on chief of the tribe or some kind of synth guitar arp buried in there, whatever it is it sounds so good.

theres always something going on it your songs you dont feel like you've heard everything in the first minute or so.if only I could create my songs like this.anyways going to burn it for my truck thanks again to you and lush!

I accidentally converted the files to 128 kbs yesterday. I have now uploaded the files in much better 192 kbs quality here:

We recorded them initially in 2000-01, but were never satisfied with them. The version of Do Me Right is from 2006. But that's not the oldest recording on the album. That "honour" goes to Fake Romance, which we did in 2005 and only added Female vocals to this year. "You Don't Have To" was remixed this year for the album, although the vocals are from the 2003 version, except for the female backing vocals, which were recorded this year. I still don't feel that we've quite done the definitive version of "You Don't Have To". Most of the other songs were done in the period from late 2007 to the summer of 2008. Since then I have barely even turned on my musical equipment.

The entire backing track for that song was done by danish amateur instrumental artist eXorb. I've always loved that track and was very happy that we got to record a vocal version of it. It is a guitar of sorts in that it is a heavily chopped up sample that includes guitars.

Excellent stuff, especially 'This is not goodbye'.
It was a cough that carried him off. It was a coffin they carried him off in.
