Is that all? Jesus.
I downloaded Wrong today, its growing on me.
I haven't heard it on the radio at all. I don't think radio 2 have play-listed it.
Still reckon their album will sell ok first week, marginally more than Yes, perhaps?

Evidently they need Vince Clarke to rejoin... I'm sure with his pop sensibilities, he'd be certain to write them a few hits!Undertaker wrote:Depeche Mode currently #220 on itunes.

Re: The Chart Thread
'Wrong' is already struggling. Currently at number 21 and mainly due to physical sales. it's making very little impact on the digital chart.

Re: The Chart Thread
So PSB's tenth top ten studio album sold more than Erasure's Olympian singles collection in its first week of sales. Not bad.

Re: The Chart Thread
It sold more than their last 3 albums combined and at least 2 were advertised on television. I was quite surprised that Nightbird and Light... sold that low because the singles did alright.Patrick Bateman wrote:So PSB's tenth top ten studio album sold more than Erasure's Olympian singles collection in its first week of sales. Although singles are primarily released to promote albums, it already looks like Depeche Mode's 'Wrong' will sell quite a bit less than 'Precious'.

I've heard Depeche Mode's new album and it's nothing to write home about.Wrong is probably one of the only good tracks on it!

Re: The Chart Thread
I doubt DM are too worried about the single as they have a virtually sold out stadium tour due this summer.
Plus their album will still sell in the millions due to their fanbase alone.

A bit skewed because unlike almost all the other songs on that list, the single was the only way to obtain the song for about 4 years.Undertaker wrote: 3 New Order - Blue Monday : m 1,005k

The album might not sell millions, but the tour is where they will be a huge success. Their tours always do well, even if their albums do not.homer1972 wrote:I doubt DM are too worried about the single as they have a virtually sold out stadium tour due this summer.

They've reached the point where they wouldn't even need to make albums or have hits. They could just tour indefinitely and rake it in.
Used to be that bands toured to promote new albums. Seems it's the other way round today.

Exciter sold 3m plus, PTA sold 3.4 M.
Will bet my bonus that SOTU will shift over 2m.
